Gah. Refugee center was nearby, so I did the missions before going down the pump station. Managed to finish the last one due to the bug where there’s no nearby bandit camp and the bandit spawns at the center. Just in time as well, since a horde showed up because zombies were breaking through the window.
Now to the pump station. Now the main problem is that the game is so slow because there’s so much wanderers. And chicken walkers down below, it seems.
Mk. 19 grenade launcher works beautifully against zombies. And fungal monsters. And wildlife. Had to pepper a tank drone with flecthette rounds though.
So…driving by undead, wasting them with a mounted GL, while my character occasionally munches on a cheeseburger. 'murrica.
Bah. I got impatient. I revealed the map, killed all the monsters, just so I can peek down into the necropolis and see what’s up. Looking at the place, it would have been an interesting area to explore, but the slowdown was too much. Too many wanderers. Due to the badge, got a new set of missions. Not a lot compared to the outpost, but it should be interesting to see more in later versions.
Retiring that playthrough due to the debug menu use.
I’ll have to try the narrower sidebar sometime. I’m more used to simply making the game window a bit bigger than my normal 800x600, especially on the desktop with it’s much larger screen than the laptop.
Also, I could try slapping a mounted gun on the driver’s seat so I can use it manually with driving…
EDIT: Oh this is gonna be fun.
You seem to have implemented the idea I’ve been thinking about for some time. A mototerminator minus the Skynet part. That is, something rather miniature, mobile, blazingly fast and sporting a solid firepower. I’m thinking about building one and I want to put that plasma engine I have into it.
Haha, thinking the same way.
Now imagine being able to mount a tankbot main gun on your vehicle.
Azrad, what kind of outpost are you talking about?
I call it the Killah Kruisah. Literally just a motorcycle with a Mk. 19 on it. Not very fast because that gun is heavy, but good enough and nimble.
Also, you’re late. Frag rounds were more effective.
EDIT: The town, or what’s left of it, is now pretty much undead free. I spotted an irradiated wanderer though…ooh. I should clear out a necropolis with this!
I found a flask of mutagen, and a flask of purifier. Ended up with slime hands and minor radioactivity. Now I have influenza. Thankfully I have a large amount of food and water, and some cough syrup … but staying in one house is probably not a great idea, considering that I am slowly making it more and more toxic. (Although, now that I look at the description, if I stay in one place for 50-100 turns, then it won’t get any worse.)
Wow. I just realized, all three of my first mutations were all slime mutations. No wonder I am getting slimy dreams…
Did the usual procedure of grinding skills and then suddenly I notice zombies in my distant evac shelter. Look at map, Horde.
By the time I notice it I haven’t even made a bra yet or any other cloths besides the other half to it all and shorts I found, so I bolt out of there and go to another house. I settle down and begin to make stuff with the houses curtains. I look around the house after a bit, look out the window and boom theres a hulk who hasn’t noticed me. Then I noticed the small horde is across the street.
I run out with a bottle of cola and rum in hand and find a hippie van that works and pedaled the fuck out of there with only alcohol, a cloak, a t-shirt, a cotton hat, shorts and my fists.
Good thing I know Tiger Kung-Fu.
Finished clearing out the town, back to RC. Building that mototerminator vehicle slowly.
Met yet another variation of a zombie — zombie hollow. Mindlessness slowly devolves into hollowness.
Bugger. My laptop’s keyboard seems to be broken in the up and right arrow key. Busy for the week, so I’m using a program to reassign the keys.
Playing the game is a bit awkward thanks to that. Wanna try a constantly drunk character with the drunken master trait and either tiger or scorpion kung fu. May try lizard out to see how it fares when I’m standing next to a wall.
I reccomend tiger kung-fu. I have a cloak, a t-shirt and shorts and with how it makes me feel like a travelling martial artist, it’s good. You also dont need to be hitting the same enemy, just doing the same attack it seems.
Scorpion is pretty powerful though. Stinger kick does pretty high damage to hulks, but since I already spent quite a lot of time with that, tiger it is.
I came across some kind of camp in a forest. It isn’t marked on the map and has lots of useful things inside including a garage with an intact and partially fueled motorbike. A tasty unfortunate deer warned me of the minefield defending it but other than that were no security measures (I have NPCs off). If there are any secrets they are well hidden. What is it?
I love that when raiding a regional school. I found beer and pilsner in the cafeteria fridge. I was looking for some books I didn’t have yet, ones for reloading ammo. I even found them. I was thirsty and my canteen was empty so I checked the cafe. Nice school. Serves beer, has ways to make guns and ammo, and how to cook humans. Yep, found that there too.
In what kind of school did you go…?! . . . actually, nevermind, i don’t want to know. At least you didn’t find any whips or bondage gear, so that’s a plus, yes?
I have finished my mototerminator. At least for a while. A vehicle made of heavy duty frames, two armoured wide wheels, an M-134 minigun attached, powered by a plasma engine. I guess it would probably look like a homemade version of Dodge Tomahawk IRL.
It’s impractical. Hydrogen is hard to come by, the plasma engine isn’t too fuel-efficient too and do try shooting something with that minigun without getting deafened. But I wanted to implement it and so I did.
Fun way to enhance your high-speed driving skills: if you want to master driving at ~100 kph, try cruising at 200+ kph. The following downgrade to 100 kph will seem really manageable.
Looted another electronics store. Now in addition to joint torsion ratchet I have an internal furnace too. Good, meaning less running around.
