What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

Never! My quest for all the post apocalyptic boozes and my own brewery/distillery shall continue! This cataclysm shall be DECADENT!

But seriously though. Some high resource concoction spirit involving the still and mycus fruit/berries/seeds would be fun to see. Make it REALLY addictive as a way to balance it :D.

Edit Also found a laser pistol on a zombie. And a under the hood copy. Now I just need a jack and some wheels to get that pickup ride rolling and make looting the town easier.

Since the Marloss items are themselves addictive, I suppose it would be amusing…

EDIT: Before we leave for the Bloom, where it all began, we shall re-visit the Flowers to reap its bounty.

EDIT 2: How saddening. The blossoms do not welcome us. No matter. The haze does not trouble us anymore.

EDIT 3: “You see the fungal blossom approaching!” Stop that. You can’t move. You don’t even have feet.

EDIT 4: See why I…er, we said the Flowers are too damn hectic?

EDIT 5: Huh. It seems that lingering near the fungal entities calms them. I shall have to try and calm the Tower this way.

EDIT 6: The Tower refuses to be calmed. Sad dragon ensues.

EDIT 7: Fine then. Slew the tower, debug spawned a friendly one in its place.

EDIT 8: Strange. Map shows the NPC still exists, and yet missions says I failed the “find antibiotics” mission. Must be because he’s outside the reality bubble. We shall fix that…

EDIT 9: Interesting…

“The walking plants seek to use us as a food source. We will not allow that.
We will raise bountiful orchards and beautiful gardens.
We will raise bountiful orchards and beautiful gardens.”

So I tried crafting the vortex engine. As it turns out, I need a vortex core which can’t be crafted due to some JSON error. So to just try it out, debugged one and fired up the engine. On the Berserkar and it’s weight, it’s safe speed is even less than the large electric motor.

Acceleration is 1 and safe speed is 13. On the other hand, the fuel usage doesn’t give a number… so I’m not sure if that’s an infinite source of energy or not… so possibly it could be an infinite power supply. Don’t have the patience to see if the energy drains.

FINALLY found a screwdriver on a corpse. Now got the shelter boarded up and a stone fireplace built. Swamp is proving a great source of food too and skins. Still only got basic gear ( leather armour and knife spear) but it’s relatively cosy here by the swamp and river. Only disturbed intermittently by the odd zombie walking out of the river from a horde on the opposite bank. Just got to find a jack so I can get the pickup out on the road running. Got a few guns and some ammo. But nothing that matches up. So it’s all getting piled in one corner of my base between looting trips to town. Which I found an entire section with 12 zombies dead. No sign of fungaloids or npcs. Then I found a moose corpse nearby. Damn those things are terrifying. Oh well. At least it opened up a section of the suburbs for me to loot. Along with a huge multi vehicle wreck I can start smashing for chunks and scrap and lumps of metal once the pickup is working.

Caught common cold for another time. Good that I had cough syrup, lots of water and canned foods stockpiled. Dealt with it in usual three days, spent the next day scouting around; found an APC without engine. The next two days were spent in hectic search for a good engine, cameras and displays. Then I had to stockpile diesel and batteries to start the damn thing up.

Finally, having found all I need I fixed the thing and tried to drive it. Crikey, cameras refused to work. Of course, who installs the displays on the windshield, they need to be installed on the seat.

But setting that aside, the result proved to be quite, quite decent. I have a goddamn fleet near that refugee centre: a military cargo lorry, an armoured car, an FBI car, an electric sports car, a motorbike, an APC and something else I forgot what.

Now I need lots of fuel…

P.S. Oh, and I found a shoggoth in one of the labs. I have no idea what to do with it so I left it there.
P.P.S. FN FAL, despite having more damage than M4, proved to be weaker even with the whole set of mods that were previously installed on the latter.

Curiosity got the better of me. On the world where I usually test out stuff, I created a small vehicle. 3x3 in size. 7 of the 8 sides has roller drums on them. V12 engine. Tried plowing through a forest with that.

Kinda actually worked, but the path it made was far from straight. Decided to see if it can go through concrete, so back into the forest I go. And so I realized that I probably should have added a five point harness. Poor test dummy had his head squashed into the roller drum, from the looks of it.

Well, since I’m not on the laptop, back to not being fungusdragon. Though now it seems my bandwidth is reset, so…hmm. Might be distracted by things. =w=

.308/7.62x51mm has no useful advantages over .223/5.56x45mm right now. Their damage is very close, 7.62 has higher recoil and compensates for it with slightly higher accuracy which is useless because all guns are very short range anyway. 5.56 NATO is the best rifle cartridge for most purposes until you can get your hands on 8x40mm, and if 5.56 cant take it down .30-06 can.

And of course, 12 gauge or .50 BMG solves most other problems.

I found an elephant gun. No ammo, or way to make it. I must keep it. I now have two goals. Get the plasma engine going and find ammo to shoot this gun.

I think it’s time to hit that LAB nearby… odds are it’s one of them frozen ones, it always is.

Elephant guns take .700NX. You can get the recipe to manufacture it from a book at lv7 fabrication. It is statistically identical to FMJ .50 BMG in all areas but weight.

Hmm, I don’t have the recipe, even with the fabrication of 7. It’s not in any of the books I have, which are armorsmithing, armormaking, and the low gun owners.

So I realized, I want to remove all modern guns next time.

I think doing this with flintlocks would be a fun challenge.

You can look up items at http://cdda-trunk.estilofusion.com/ . In an item’s crafting section it will show any books the recipe is in - The Handloader’s Helper in the case of .700 NX.

With 5.56 or .223 Remington plonking even those farther away is quite precise and delivering. The usual damage output is nearly 30–50 points. Normal zeds yield after 2, 3 shots. For bigger pisswads, crowds and out-of-sudden encounters there is burst firing.
Now that you have mentioned it, I have to say that shooting shit from the darkness is fun.

Haven’t dealt with 8×40mm rounds and firearms that use those.

Got me some nomad gear clothing made. I forgot how good this stuff is for storage space and minimal encumbrance. Found a light survivor hood on a zombie survivor which I’ve added to my gear I wear. Was able to make off with a low end cube van in working order too. Gonna start siphoning gas for it between looting sessions.

Also got to the point I can take down brutes with my knifespear without even landing a hit on me thanks to my skill levels in piercing, dodging and melee building up nicely. Though corrosive zombies stills care the shit out of me. As do hulks to some degree. At least till I can get a shotgun and some slugs. Still more ammo but no matching guns at this point in my building armoury. Been sawing up logs from felled trees and got plenty of boards made. The city to east and north is slowly getting cleared barring the small hordes prowling parts of it. Aiming to work my way to the road bridge upstream so I can get across to a hospital and start clearing that out.

Does environmental protection keep acid from melting clothes? I’m noticing for the first time that none of my stuff is melting off of my person constantly.

Mostly acid’s been nerfed.

It does help. Even a little is better than none when handling acid attacks and puddles.

Still low on books but had my most successful raid yet on town. Killed 2 brutes and a shocker with bushes and a spear. Only got thrown twice total. Low encumbrance clothing is a life saver quite literally whilst I don’t have working CBMs, mutations etc to toughen me up. Harvested adrenaline booster, power storage and blaster arm CBMs. Pretty successful haul along with a duffel bag filled with plastic chunks, leather and rags to top off the supplies at home. Just have to find some med skills books and I can get the power and adrenaline ones installed at very least. Might save the arm one for the gun you can craft with it later. Also got the space cleared to go raid a gun store next trip.

Decided to have a blob as a pet.

Turns out going back home to spend the next couple days disassembling Military APCs and finishing my first proper fortress on wheels just got a lot more complicated. Rolled up in the middle of the night to multiple hordes sitting on my front door, reversed right out of there as fast I could. Need to figure out a plan of attack, given all my gear and weapons are either in the underground portion of my Military Bunker home or my custom military composite armored police car out front of it. For now, I’ve still got the cover of night though.
