Fungal tower not too far from the lab Maybe I’ll pay them a visit and inflict cleansing flame upon them.
Failed installing night vision, cerebral booster and lightning bionics, a sad day for me
Fungal bloom far up north. Far enough from the reality bubble, but once I get a molotov or two, I’m going in.
Finally made my way out of the lab. Bottom floor was the laser weapons cache, and one quantum solar panel. Got a UPS and Advanced UPS as well.
Made my way to a nearby sewage treatment plant, and went crazy with the organizing once again. Cheated a little and made some counters with map editor, since somewhere in my crazy head is the idea of not liking just piling things in a floor tile.
You couldn’t get wood (huehuehue) to build the counters/table? owo
Ouch, and those are 3 really hard to find bionics on top of that. I remember I once failed 3 Enhanced Memory Banks CBM installs in a row with a 16% failure chance… so much disappoint.
For some reason, it seems like the rarer bionics fail more than the failure rate suggests. I’ve found exactly one stealth field, one night generator, one repair nanobots, and a couple more like that, and they ALL FAILED, with less than 10% failure. SO ANNOYING. The digestion one failed like that, also, but I finally found a second one, and that one worked.
Yeah. I had the tools for it, but before the one on my previous playthrough died he had just finished doing the organizing.
Having to go through the trouble to do it again made my brain explode, especially since I had gathered three trips worth of loot on a makeshift trunk wheelbarrow.
Atm in my game mainly wondering why we can’t ride horses.
Yes. We need this. My medieval classes mod could serious use giving the man-at-arms, samurai, and Mongolian horse archer some riding ability. o3o
All horsies and ponies got eaten, besides, they poop everywhere they go, keep them away from cataclysm dda.
And then we’d use all that crap for fertilizer, assuming farming ever gets less derp.
The real limiting factor, besides how much of a pain in the ass it’d be to code, is how rare horses are in the game.

Personally, I want a chariot. One being dragged around by a zombie hulk slave, but a horse would be nice as well.
I now want to be a post apocalyptic Mountie riding a tamed Moose/Antlered Horror.
I have pillaged 9 labs in search of alpha serum book, 5 of them were bionic labs, 1 fusion and laser weponry lab, 1 with captive nether cretures, 1 with cascade something terminal and 1 which finale was just an useless radio tower. By the time I found that cursed book this is what I ended up
I learned 10 mechanics, 8 electronics and 8 first aid from books so the failure chances were finally acceptable for me to risk it. I don’t even know how half of these things work. You have become the ultraborg. owo
I am literally in the exact opposite boat right now. I’ve cleared about halfway through my first lab and already have two of the mutagen lab journals, all the requisite chemical journals I think I need along with the ‘Alpha’, ‘Medical’, and ‘Chimera’ books. I also have a small armoury of looted firearms, several different raw mutagens and one insect serum but have found nothing in the way of bionics besides power storage and energy generators I already have or don’t want.
Once I finish plumbing the depths for goodies I’m gonna kickback and practice !!Science!! by downing all the mutagen shots I can before following with a chaser of purifier if anything nasty pops up.
I seem to have got a mixed bag of both of those. Lots of power, integrated toolset, flashlight, solars and JTR plus metabolics. For mutations I’ve got an array of minor things mostly unrelated, plus the few feline mutations I started with.
What I’m really lacking in is skillbooks I can use. All these fancy science books are above my level.
Mine’s a somewhat mixed bag as well. Bionics-wise, got integrated, joint-torsion, metabolic, ethanol, dielectric, storage, furnace, and anti-glare for the basic ones, and torso alloy and facial distortion for the fancy ones. Had some more kinda rare ones and basic, but a really unfortunate failure with solar panels removed them.
Mutations-wise, somewhat better. Road runner, fey nightsight, phelloderm, light eater, and high adrenaline. All from munching on mutated limbs. Basically, a lot of elf mutations without their negative ones. Not sure if I’ll push further with mutations for now.
Loot-wise, got a good armory of guns, including the laser rifle. Quantum solar panel, and I spied two advanced solar cars on my way to my base, so soon enough I could set up a rig at the base.
For now, I’ve spent some time doing a complete slaughter of an ant hill. I certainly don’t need the about 1.5k ant eggs, which took several trips, but I wants them, and I slaughtered every single thing under the hill to get them. Did the same thing on a previous playthrough with a bee hive, where I got all the honey, not to mention breaking down the walls for wax.
Okay, is this normal that every barracks armory in labs is closed from inside out and and the terminal to open it is shielded by reinforced glass, concrete walls and closed metal door? Is the only way in to blow up the entrance or teleport through?
