Had a dozen failed playthroughs today. On a last one started near nice looking town with a bar, gas station, gun store and some other nice landmarks. Strolling to loot closest house and NPC with makeshift flamethrower runs into town, set Zs on fire together with houses… maybe a quarter of town burned, asshole died in explosion of local bar

I hear a smashing sound from the west…

turn to find a bear had marched its way through my door.

I run out of the house, eventually gaining a hord of zombies behind me.

after i think i have out ran them, i get blind sided by a [glow=red,2,300]moose[/glow], which blinds me, then kills me.

ouch, ive had ninja moose on me before, they like coming at me while im asleep

anyways, started a new game, finaly lasted more than a day compared to the last 20 or so attempts, built a makeshift shelter and not too sure but it shelters me from just the weather right? when i examine it it says its empty so its also some sort of storage?

So I’m just flying down the highway, the Daedalus’ engines redlined to 400 MPH so that I can reach a nearby town before summer hits so that I might be able to grow tomatoes and wheat for foodstuffs when I notice the passenger side door is open. I check my map, I’ve got twenty map tiles or so before I get close enough to the town so I decide to let go of the wheel to close the door.

That was my mistake. By the time I got to the door I was just over half way to the town.

I managed to reach the driver’s seat again, but now I’m trying to decide if I should just jump from the vehicle and hope it doesn’t kill me… …Or strap into the 5-Point harness and try and save the Daedalus.

…I’m gonna jump.

So as soon as I jumped from the Daedalus it whipped around and I bounced off the hull and was thrown into a liquor store. By “thrown into a liquor store” I mean I was chucked through a wall like a fucking cannon ball. I crashed in through the wall and three refrigerators, my helmet is a crumpled lump of kevlar by where I initially jumped from the Daedalus, my dragonskin vest is now a sack full of shattered ceramic discs, my trenchcoat is just gone, and my legs are just about broken, but I survived.

The Daedalus however was another story, it proceeded to go for another six map tiles down the road, and screeched to a stop in a pizza parlor. Started checking over the wreck, the most obvious problem is the front end is kinda gone. Everything forward of the living space is completely and utterly totalled. Half of it is just gone the other half of it pretty badly damaged.

That said once that’s done and you check the living space, it’s shockingly unharmed. There’s a hole in the hull, but with the exception of one thing the whole of the Living Space is completely unharmed.

That said, every single last “Heavy Duty Frame” on the vehicle is destroyed. Guess it’s time to try and repair the thing before the fungal bloom takes this town.

If you use the additional vehicles parts thing you can’t close doors unless they have a door motor. While other doors in the vehicle did have door motors, I hda decided not to install them on the front doors.

This mistake will be corrected.

Nope, sounds about right to me. Thanks for the answer! Triffids strike me as ‘nature gone wild’ (insert obligatory spring break joke) while Elf-a strikes me as ‘balance with nature’, so I think triffids are a legit enemy too. Now to go flamethrower that mycus patch!

Week two of the Daedalus repairs are currently something of a mixed success and failure. I’ve managed to use a local hardware store to speed up the repairs of the Daedalus, and I’ve had to hack up several cars to cover the destroyed frames but it’s coming together quickly.

The local fungus is also getting aggressive and I fear I am not long for this world, the dust mask really isn’t an acceptable substitute for my Survivor Mask.

EDIT: a dust mask is NOT an acceptable substitute for a Survivor mask. My arms are bad now… Guess it’s time to take a trip to the hospital to the north.

While testing out explosives my current character grew several points in Dex (gained 4) - Str (gained 4) and Per (gained 3)

What I thought was going to be a lethal mistake turned out quite well. I should go stepping in explosions more often

Haven’t Played in awhile, and just got into the swing of things and raided a Military Bunker, and found a M320 Stand Alone Launcher to kill the zombie dogs that were chasing me for awhile… One of them were a bit tougher then the rest… This is why.
