What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

Day 40. Found an atomic coffee maker three weeks ago. Haven’t slept since. Atomic Coffee is good,

In all seriousness though three weeks without sleep? I hate the taste of coffee personally but I think I’d find a way. I’m also fairly certain it’d result in me screaming the Battlefield theme while running in circles before eventually crashing.

WHEEEE! Atomic coffee, because sleep is for losers!

I like the atomic coffee maker because I can just stay up and read all my awesome books all night. Seriously, atomic nightlights are THE BEST.

My Spider Mutant Unwilling Experiement is sneaking into town at night and fortifying the public works on the edge of town after clearing it of shockers with her quarterstaff. Once I secure it, I’ll be moving my things down from the Fema Camp that was right next door to the lab I broke out of. (Which, really, is insanely dark if you think about it.)

Once I get my construction high enough, a well ought to deal with the profound lack of available water on this map.

I HAAAVE THE POWERRRRR
And promptly after this event, a whole lot of vacuum packed meats.

Iceball, im not sure if this happened right after fighting that NPC but you may want to put a splint on your arm to start to heal it.

Finally found an armored carrier in order to make a new supercar completely from scratch, using the heavy duty frames.
I have already gathered some cargo spaces, thankfully they are easier to find now that they are included in flatbed trucks.

Also wooo, just made it to a military outpost, found me some DRAGONSKIN
Interestingly, says it cannot be repaired, but my kevlar chunks and soldering iron say otherwise.

When I added them you couldn’t fix them, but someone undid that then never changed the description.

What’s happening in my randomly-generated apocalypse? I’m living in a swamp at the end of spring, living of acorns and bull frogs and living in a shelter i made myself. Armed with nothing but a knife spear, pot and the clothes on my back (and feet).

Another character, another world.

I spawned in an Evac Shelter in the forest right in between two larger cities. I found that the basement was filled with a whole bunch of useful and random stuff. I raided the town for useful things, and found a Hippie Van that functioned, and drove it home. =D Day 1 complete, time to fortify.

well currently im wandering though the city with my character with
-Gloves of the Frigid beasts
-3 str
-you feel unwell
-you feel an evil presense 'ocasionally
and 3 encumberance for

93% coverage with 12 bash and pierce

and permanent invisibility

Wiew just meled a tankdrone to death, they really are pathetic when you are invisible

That went poorly. Day 2 of lab raiding, and all I got was some lupine serum, a syringe, an adrenaline pump, and a CBM that I can’t remember, but looked pretty sweet if I ever become able to get my skills high enough to reliably bionic myself.

Near the end of my travels, I was nearly getting frostnip, and decided to take out a turrent to see how strong they were. I had numerous backup plans, tools to use in case other tools failed, and armor covering all my body.

For purposes of the re-enactment, let us assume that I opened the door at precisely 11:00.

10:59:48 : Wields shotgun.
10:59:54 : Lights dynamite.
11:00:00 : Opens door. Turrent beeps.
11:00:06: Throws dynamite at turrent. Direct hit. Turrent returns fire.
Damage report: 200 pain. Hard arm guards completely broken. Cargo pants ripped. All other armor is kevlar, and resists the gunfire. Arms completely busted, unable to fire shotgun. Left leg is fine, but right leg is around 30% health. All other body parts are not badly injured
11:00:12: Seeing that all backup plans rely on me being alive in two turns time, which doesn’t look likely, I use my left leg to desperately close the door
Turrent sustains fire. This volley was much less accurate, and the only shot that hit it’s target was a grazing shot to the right leg, not enough to cripple it. However, pain rises to 330.
11:00:18: Door closed.
11:00:30: Huge explosion rocks the room below me.

Excruciating pain reduces all stats to zero. All my loot, and quite a lot of cool gear, such as my waterskin and electrohack, and some essentials, such as my screwdriver and flashlight, are discarded to get my weight limit low enough to move. I then eat what food I can, drink what water I can, and make some desperate repairs on my right leg with a first-aid kit. I then crawl my way out, accidentally tripping over a slime pit, and emerge bloody, injured, and moaning.

So now I am out of action for the next few days, before I recover my loot, and investigate the outcome of the dynamite explosion. I managed to get a Computer Science book that will make the time pass so much more quickly! And also, I think I have completely explored the first floor of the lab (sans turrent rooms), so I can start my plans of construction of my new home! I’ll also try to make kevlar armor for my legs and arms. Or try to recover the Power Armor in the LMOE shelter to the north.

You, digitCruncher my good sir, need a very big hug and a lot of First Aid Kits.

WAIT JUST A SECOND

I took my hippie van out for a spin, just to get the lay of the land beyond my small evac shelter. On the North side of the nearest city, which I’m calling “Salvation” in the grand ironic style of apocalypse scenarios, I found a Farm, and an APC not too far away. The APC itself needs only a little bit of work. Repair on the controls and enough diesel to fill the tank.

But no labs yet. I think I’ll move my base to the farm once it’s cleared, as there’s already a good amount of useful stuff there, and it’s in a more isolated location. Plus the infinite water and food supply, and a pre-made barn to serve as a garage.

I still need to locate a lab, and build some skills. Raid a grocery store and find out where I can get large amounts of diesel, maybe make a Jerrycan or two. And then better my equipment and figure out how to produce more bullets for my rifle.

I had an NPC walk up to my base, say hi, walk inside, and help himself to ALL of my stuff. I trapped him inside by putting myself in the doorway, equipping my nail knuckles, switched to boxing, delivered a right hook to his temple, and was promptly killed in one shot with his .22 pipe rifle. This incident has taught me that the RNG sometimes gets downright pissed, and is a far more spiteful god than anyone could ever imagine.

Today I threw a shopping cart full of active Mininukes at some jabberwock who didn’t like me for some reason.

I knew investing in that epic engine was a good idea, even if I did die. It was fucking worth it for the sheer badassitude, talk about going out with style!

…Now I need to start again. I wish I could have your hippie van, Rosanna, they make excellent starting bases. Ah well, I guess living in a tent beside a fissure of lava in the ground isn’t that bad I guess.

Never underestimate NPC’s and their ‘Fuck off’ fighting styles. Especially if they have a gun!

An NPC almost smacked me to death with chocolate pancakes once, but let’s not get into THAT crazy story.

Just escaped from the lab in a most interesting way. I’d spent alot of time working up the skill to make a quarterstaff and finally gather everything I needed to make it. I then went up to the top floor of the lab at night, sneaked into one of the side rooms, and started trying to bash down the wall. I kept hearing crashing all around me, but I didn’t think much of it… until the walls around me started to get destroyed by newly growing plants!

Seems a nearby Trifflid Queen had heard me and come to check things out, destroying the lab in the process. Luckily I was able to slip past the growing trees, and the queen ran into the turret. No idea which one won, because I was busy running as fast as I could down the road in the opposite direction!

Is real thing: Wikipedia Article

I think the first time I heard about it was on Mythbusters… …then on Future weapons XD
EDIT: I… I do not remember all this shit about it not working as advertised being there before… This might get ugly.

Got my 2nd Mutation Ever, 1st was Strong Scent to Smelly while leaving a Hazardous waste sarcophagus in a past Round, in my Current one though I somehow got Hooves near a Destroyed Parking Lot with a lot of Rocks and Rebar.
