In my new non-LP world (Insch), I decided to try a more challenging character build, by picking the Scoundrel class and only giving myself 6 points to work with (Along with a number of negative and positive traits for roleplay). I turned the spawn rate up to 0.7 from my previous setting of 0.3, just to ease into a more challenging experience. The next Let’s Play series I run, I’ll probably tune this back up to 1.0 and just go for as vanilla an experience as possible. It’s between that or disabling Slow Zombies. Or possibly both!
Anyways, in Insch, I went for an archery build as described on the Day One Survival tips thread, and somehow managed to survive my first foray into the town. Over the course of almost a week, I’ve secured a house for myself, killed numerous zombies with field-point arrows (Including a zombie brute), gotten some well-reinforced and fitted clothing, and apart from having some trouble finding food, I’m doing pretty well for myself!
I also just started applying my Mechanical knowledge after grabbing the tools I needed (Did a quick grab-and-run at a hardware store), and have disassembled some of the cars outside my house, and I’m planning on repurposing some of the materials to make a solar-powered worklight in my house - charge during the day, illuminate at night time, that’s the plan at least. I need to find some jumper cables and duct tape first, though.
