And a years worth of food

I needed some metal to get an anvil, so I decided it would be a good time to clear out the wreckage at the intersection near my house, so that when I get around to building a vehicle I’ll actually be able to drive on this road.

30 days (and several IRL days) later, I’ve just finished disassembling the first pile-up, and I have about 10 tons of steel. There are several other large pieces of wreckage about, as well as cars in various conditions. I’m going to run out of food before I finish doing this. Too bad there’s not a metallovore mutation. :stuck_out_tongue:

Trying to figure out why I keep waking up from coughing even though I’m deaf.

Pretty sure violent fits of coughing wake deaf people up for real, it’s not so much that it’s loud as it is–you know–your body doing stuff out of your control.

Mutation caused by too many CBMs! Nails are like candy to robots, and we’ll eat tires instead of licorice.

On topic: Death. So much death. :frowning: Can’t seem to get a character to stay alive for even the first day. It’s been so long since I got settled somewhere.

Uhh… Good job. And don’t be a lazy piece of poo and go look at the names of the things you’ll have. But I doubt that you’ll live long enough to remember.
Dude, chill with the hostility to the new players. If you don’t think you are, reality check, you’re acting hostile, stop it.
More specifically, I don’t want to see anyone being called names, and I don’t want to see you saying how much better than you are at the game than other people.
I won’t sig it then, but thanks for the complement, Ninja.

Like, seriously, have you never been ill before? :stuck_out_tongue: It’s pretty common for flu or whooping cough or whatever to disrupt sleeping…

That’s about how long it’s taken me to get the seat out of one car. Over the last couple of builds this is the second time I’ve made it to summer and well actually kept playing. Hope to figure it out, if play long enough, before the next build.

Finally surviving with a low str character (very annoying not being able to move furniture around). Had a crazy journey to get a welder (2 hardware stores, a FEMA camp and finally, miles away from my base, a farm, burned a Jabberwocky on my back, almost died), built the pneumatic assault rifle (decent wep, anything better that can be crafted?). Fixed a solar car and rearranged it to act a generator for my base, hooked up a RV kitchen.

Still looking for the crafting books to bring up tailoring and fab, for a set of survivor gear. But the town is bereft of libraries (there is one deep in the town, I plan to get to it slowly, last time I was there I almost died from a Shocker Brute). So far the NPC’s have been a nuisance rather than a help (they all carry useless items).

IRL cough do not wake me up even i do not cough while sleeping only i have loud snore every night

The symptoms from flu usualy fail to wake me up. But i had a serious influenza infection before which disturbed my sleep once in a while. It can be deadly and nothing to just shrug off. Waking up from the flu might be worth tweaking though.

My dog just killed a hulk-

i didn t help i was busy with the rest of the horde. So i totaly had his back … go doggy.

edit: he died in acid a bit later…

Nope, I think I rolled Disease Resistant in real life :^)

So how am I supposed to stay asleep, then? Between sleep deprivation, the influenza itself, and the pain, my Strength is 0. I’m still able to fight decently well and thankfully I had a massive stockpile of food so I can afford to stay inside safe for a few days, but I’m constantly Exhausted.

On the upside it gave me plenty of time to read, even though I’m practically falling asleep after every page only to wake up immediately from coughing.

sleeping should supress coughing like it do in real life

Started crafting leather trenchcoats to pass the time waiting to recover from the flu, eventually got better so I dragged my Exhausted butt into bed and fell asleep for ten hours. Woke up still Dead Tired, ate a bunch of blueberry pop-tarts and drank some sweet water, then fell back asleep for seven more hours, woke up still Dead Tired to a regular zed and a fat one chewing on me, beat both of them to death with an empty plastic bottle, repaired my window, butchered the corpses and fell back asleep for fifteen more hours, finally woke up no longer Tired.

Guess I’ll make some vegetable sushi for breakfast and get back to working on my truck.

I think the lesson that I’ve learned is to never take off my gas mask.

I think it’s what you’re eating.

YOU ARE DRINKING SUGARED WATER AND EATING SWEET POPTARTS.

I was running out of mycus fruits. I think I only had around 50-60 left. Then I found a fungal spire. Now I have 292 mycus fruits. I’m not going to need to stop by any fungal spires in the near future, and I can stop conserving mycus fruits too.
built the pneumatic assault rifle (decent wep, anything better that can be crafted?)
I’ve found that the pneumatic assault rifle (code refers to it as the Tihar) is my go-to weapon for most things - pebbles for scavanging in cities, bearings for labs and roadblocks at night.

The other crafted ranged weapon I’d consider notable is the rail rifle - ammo’s craftable, but still a pain to acquire, so it’s not great for casual use, but range 50 and zero dispersion combined with high damage and penetration make it quite suitable for night raids against military outposts that have floodlights and anti-material turrets.

Haven’t had the opportunity to test it versus a tank-bot yet, though.

There’s the reflex recurve bow, and the pneumatic bolter.
