bloater zombie? they die from single punch and i wear gas mask so smoke and toxic gas do nothing to me for good starting weapon grab rock and throw at crossbow trap it will give you a crossbow and 1 steel bolt
I’m back for real this time :D. anyways on topic. I had made a new character and a new world and everything, had made it to day 7 or 8 with my survivor that looked kinda like a bird from some mutagens, I had set a fire in a hospital and left it there to burn and came back a day later seeing as the fire had pretty much not moved. So I entered the hospital to find some stuff and before I knew it I was trapped in a room engulfed in a raging fire. So that sucked.
I broke into two labs. Both were completely overflowing with radioactive zombie scientists, blobs, cthulian beasts, bio-operators, and SWARMS of skitter bots.
Bloody skitter bots ignore armor! (also, radiation scrubber bionic = best bionic ever).
Whoops. That would be because fire only spreads when it’s in the area actually “active” around your character.
Pretty silly. I don’t know why the game engine can’t do some minor calculations for the entire map once every 10 turns or something like that… Or at least for a greater radius.
Created a new character and at the first day was in great Troubel as there were lots of zombies and a freaking Zombei Hulk but i ran too a gas station and hulk kinda blew up as i Shot the gas pump (Stated as a military recrute)and…i was inside…yep fried
I made a character with the intention of being a cyborg ninja type character using wolverine claws or similar…
Just explored both public works near my base… and holy crap at what I found on various corpses and electric zombies.
I now have alloy arm plating, joint torsion ratchets, various power cell implants, an internal furnace, ethanol burner, subdermal carbon armour, and a monomolecular blade implant. Half of that lot was on one corpse. Must have been a cyborg soldier or something. He also had a rivatech assault rifle and some kind of SMG.
Alright I’m takin’ her for a spin. Haven’t played since the last stable release date. Was gonna wait for the next one but you bitches are too slow. Let’s see what’s changed.
Good luck Void space.
BWAHAHAHHAHAHAHA
VOID SPACE YOU MADE MY FUCKING DAY HOLY CRAP
First thing I did was look outside the Evac Shelter’s door. Last thing I saw was a horde of wolves swarming into the building.
It was terrifying.
Today I botched the installation of my first CBM I found on some dead scientists on day 2.

T-Thanks I guess…[/spoiler]

Agreed.

I screwed up an installation and ended up with Robust Genetics…
So, I just recently started playing again after passively watching the GitHub log for a few months. The game definitely feels…harder. My old strategies still seem to work, but I have to be way, way more cautious, and there seem to be a lot more opportunities for the RNG to screw you over.
Probably my favorite death so far was when I checked the map immediately upon spawning to discover that my starting shelter had spawned about 8 overmap tiles from a triffid grove. I figured I’d roll with it, and that a nice nearby source of veggie chunks might not be so bad. I closed the map, and I had taken one step when a triffid queen’s tree attack broke down the shelter wall, allowing a vinebeast to see me and the starting NPC. I tried to run, but the NPC responded by firing a flamethrower in the shelter which set me on fire while the vinebeast poisoned me…yeah.
I had another character who was doing alright. I had found some reasonably nice gear, and was packing 4 knife spears with throwing at about 6-7, which is a passible early game loadout for dealing with garden-variety zombies. However, I was doing some recon and I wandered a little too close to a mi-go that was hanging around some dead scientists. It was much faster than me, and the thrown spears barely scratched it. Maybe if I’d been packing explosives.
My current character is doing about as well as I could hope for. I spawned near a mansion with a library, so I was recently able to read/grind my way up to a reflex-recurve bow and metal arrows, which makes fighting significantly easier. However, I’ve barely gone 20 map tiles from the starting shelter. (I’ve been to the outskirts of town a handful of times, including one rather close call involving a hulk in a garden supply store.) I’m trying get together the materials and skills to build the bolt driver, after which I’ll be a little less paranoid about scouting the overmap. I need to find a good base site.
well damaging your dna with cbm is allways good if you have night vision its more safe than mutagen
I just want to say that I have no idea why I’ve never used a fire station for a base before. They’re basically perfect, (although I am going to have to remodel a little.)
Joey Hawthorne the failed cyborg has made it to day 13. Despite threats such a deep bites needing cauterized, vicious npc survivors and skeletal dog attacks. He has become a bandit of sorts. Carving out his own little territory on the outskirts of a small town. During this time no less than 8 buildings have been burned down from survivors other than him fighting zombie and each other. He also managed to fortify a house with a fireplace already in it and has nearly finished refurbishing an ambulance as his get out of dodge ticket. With his trusty nailbat he has developed some awesome melee and bashing skills. As well as a .22 rifle which is now down to 1 magazine and a handgun that he has managed to keep scavenging rounds for where possible. Mostly used on dogs or brutes. As well as a badly wounded hulk that chased him after it pulverized another survivor. Also a few CBM modules have been scavenged here and there. Ready to install once he gets better at his medical skills.
Basically this town is starting to look like something from STALKER. I did manage to loot a simple flamethrower and a speargun off other survivors bodies. Currently working on putting together spiked plating for the front of my Deathbulance in the making. This is currently the longest lived character I have had in a while. Usually a skeletal dog rips their face off or the eternal moose threat claims them.
finaly after some time time i managed to create survivor gear and accurized reflex recurve bow
My newly created survivor is currently holed up in a doctor’s office after barely surviving head trauma from the zombies she fought on the way. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t have run into town like that, but she took quite an infectious beating in the evac shelter basement. (Note to self: Remember to beat on a wall before opening basement doors to check for Zombies.)
