What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

The parasitic contents of my current character:

Fungus
Dermatick larva
Trichinosis

I want to add that I had a filter mask on when I got the fungal infection, though it was cut. How good protection do you need to ensure you wont get the spores?

you need env protection 2 on every body part to be safe agaist spores if my memory is good

I found the one ring recently. It has the bonus of also spawning shadow snakes me over the usual evil, invisibility combination. Now its my duty to quest in search for a volcano and drop it in there. (Nah im totally going to keep it)

I just mean the infection, the spores alone are no big deal. Unless getting spores on your body now also causes fungal infections?

They do. Why else would the game tell you if spores got on your body…

I just thought that slows you down. I’ve had spores on my body plenty of times without infection?

If it is the case the wiki information is out of date.

i cant tell because i allways use protective clotches rubber gloves, filter mask nad protective googles or gas mask and rubber/combat/stelltoed boots with some clotches on torso arms and legs alslo some time ago i looted awesome ANBC suit but i use it rarely only 1 time when i looted sacrophagus but i do not have acces code to elevator

Just spawn the access code in. There’s no way to legitimately get the code except if you have NPCs on, and if you get the mission.

Yeah, the spores don’t always score on you, but if they have one good day, you’ll have several lousy ones.

I guess this is a good a time to join in, I was playing my best survivor yet and i was out on a loot run, i come back to my nice organized home, i open the door to the bathroom to be greeted by an NPC shouting at me to drop my weapon and as you do i told him to go fuck himself and as he followed me as i walked to my guns i noticed things were missing, i grabbed the shotgun and blew him away only to find that the bastard had collected over half of my things so i pulped him and leave him outside as a warning. Wasted a whole day reorganizing things.

Welcome Reshan, and damn NPCs

So, I created an awesome character today. My best yet.
(NOTE: I play on Classic Zombies for a futuristic Romero-style feel.)

I made a character based off of me, with roughly my own IQ and the lower than average strength that I have. I discovered a nearby Public Works facility, and I figured they’d have halfway decent weapons and good tools, so I only made a wood spear and set out. After dispatching the local zombies, I found a charcoal forge, a welder and goggles, that kind of stuff. I rigged up a steel spear and set out to honing my skills.

A few days later, after battling (and getting over, courtesy of the nearby zombie-infested town providing blaket-rags) sleep deprivation, I found a mostly intact cube van with enough gas to get to the closest station and fill up a bit. Afterward, I honed my skills in combat and annihilated the entire nearby township’s zombies. I had run over a wolf with the cube van at some point though, and this led to the entire passenger seat, roof and all, being ripped out. I searched for a mechanics book, but there was none.

Then, I looked south, to the school.

I patched up my clothes and readied my spear. I set off toward the school and was immediately bombarded by tiny zombies. Killing one after another trained my spear skills (A deathmatch with the Aiel? Ha! Easy.) and my mind (What’s this? Zombie Hitler is holocausting all the remaining human children? Pffft.). I destroyed the entire school of undead and found…

Mechanical Mastery. The only mechanics book in the entire school required Level 3 mechanics beforehand to be any use. (The library also contained romance and “adult” novels, too, and I found friggin’ guns in there.) I took the good books and left. I got in the cube van and set off to the west. On the way, I brushed up on chemistry and found a pile of CBM’s that would be too risky to install. I encountered a flooded section of road and walked around it and proceeded on foot, eventually finding a Wal-Mart and some explosives crates. I used dynamite and grenades to destroy the undead and eventually found some useful things. (One, two, five!) I then proceeded south to the nearby town. I hooked up a car with some batteries (followed by zombies all the way) and walked over to a gas station, filling a gallon jug with gasoline. I knocked the zombie in the driver’s seat out of the way, hopped in, and drove up to where I left the van.

I dismantled the car partially and fixed the seat of the van (converting it into a floor cargo space), performed general repairs on the roof and sides of the van, and used a seat from the car to make a bed in the back of the van. I built a door between the driver’s seat (henceforth referred to as the “cockpit”) and cargo space (henceforth referred to as “crew’s quarters”), renamed it “Batmobile”, and set off the other way.

I encountered a much larger town that way, and I decided to rebuild civilization and stab all the zombies into chunks. I got sick a few days after getting there, however, and was forced to stay in the crew’s quarters reading. I did, however, find an RV, and I installed its kitchen unit into the crew’s quarters (which were, by this point, full of leather scraps, food, explosives, guns, and the like).

After recovering, I have now set out to reclaim the town. Wish me luck!
Depends, this one guy taught me 4 levels of computer skill for like $20.

good luck

Just brewed up my first flask of alpha serum.

Oh yeah.

I also modded in twinkies a while ago as a reference to Zombieland, and made them give +100 morale and spawn rarely on children.

I FOUND IT! I FOUND A TWINKIE! WOO!
Just brewed up my first flask of alpha serum.
What advantages/disadvantages does the Alpha mutation branch have over others?

There is no disadvantage. None.

what about the vomiting?

Other than having a weak stomach, yeah. You’ll basically just be Khan from Star Trek.

The downside is that it takes a hell of a lot of effort to get that one serum, and you’ll need multiple serums if you want to breach the threshold.
