What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

ductaped a experimental plasma engine to the back of a wheely chair, sat in it and turned it on

hurtled down the road at 214 mph
bad news: catapulted through a hospital wall when the wheels finally gave way
good news: Lived

XD

Trying to get under a Hazardous waste sarcophagus without using the debug menu or NPCs. I keep digging under it and finding nothing. I’m using my sonic resonator CBM and metabolism but it isn’t really working! I keep hitting nothing but rock.

(I did try debugging and getting an access code and it took me two levels down, when I dug there, there was nothing. It’s weird.)

I’ll get there one way or another!

…Yeah.
After losing several of my characters I learned one thing - you don’t leeroy jenkins into a town and survive. Sure, I knew that even before I installed CDDA. But every single time I was doing perfectly fine, craft that, scavenge that… Then I got bored. Why wait for the nightfall if I’m faster than th-respawn
Now that dying became even more boring than waiting for the night, I set up a base in a garage.
Then I learned that concrete is 100% flammable in a very painfull way.
I was really pissed off, the garage collapsed on all of my stuff because I made a fire with some boots to cook the moose that kept attacking me untill I fired both my barrels at it point-blank. Like, what. Even zombies give up after some time.
My new base is at the fire station. The first thing I did was make myself a brazier.
Now I have a lot of guns, not a lot of ammo, but still enough to fight my way through the town if something goes really wrong. However, I keep them safe in the base - if I have to use a firearm that means I’m already fucked, so I don’t risk using them. I carry sawn-off pipe shotguns and flintlocks.
When I go outside, I wear 3 vests - superalloy, steel and something. I guess that means I would survive a tank shell as long as it hit my upper body… And while I’m inside, I wear a gas mask. Because the brazier makes living here a hell. Literally.
Oh, and I have the CARTMOBILE 3000 X-PRO. Basically it’s a quad-ish pedal-powered container capable of achieving 50 km/h while moving several tons of your stuff. It will also double as a lamp for late-night crafting, as soon as I get my mechanics to 6 to install solar pannels. My previous character that could do it got killed by a cougar. FML.

As for now, my daily routine looks like that - I spend the day crafting, reading and boiling water from the toilet to make it drinkable, at night I sneak out to grab a bit of this and a bit of that or go for a ride to the forest.
As soon as I learn how to craft some better crossbows I will leave the town for some time, my food stocks are running thin and I don’t want to risk venturing further into the city - too many cougars around here. Plus all the snacks that I find to next to nothing to reduce my hunger meter, and that’s sad.

BTW this game is amazing.

I ate some uncooked human flesh and now I have brainworms…

Well bob the superhuman chimeric cyborg finally died. In a way I never saw coming and feel miffed about. Came back to the evac shelter that I had been crashing in lately since the basement was the safest area nearby. I head towards bed in the corner when…who the hell are yo-BLAMBLAMBLAMBLAMBLAMBLAM. I dont know where this NPC came from. But I assume I ate his sister or something because the moment he saw me he went full auto. I was cocky. Figured id just walk up to him and impale him on my electric sword arm. And then my head got blown clear off.

At least he didn’t send you to get the USB drive from some place over there, and hand you a mininuke (active) when you asked if he had anything to help out.

Just one suggestion.

Scavenge a bunch of rocks.

Fireplaces help.

Killer moose.

Some lazy, fast and backgroundless drawing of what happened.
Game crashed while trying to handle the junk-splosion that followed.

…frame two is now my head cannon as to what the X key actually does.

Plenty of stuff is happening in my adventure,I have been until recently gathering books to learn useful stuff before I make enough stuff to make a car work and get out of this city.

Then I got the common cold, now I’m off on a quest to find medicine because I’m tired and the cough syrup is a cheap scam made by some pre-apocalyspe company.

Returns to NPC who gave me quest to kill his zombie mom
"Did you kill her?"
“Yup. I did it.”
“Well, thanks. Here, I’ll teach you about shotguns.” (I had a sawn-off pipe shotgun at the time.)
We’re done training, I try to talk to him again
"DROP THE SAWN-OFF MOTHERFUCKING FUCKLESS FUCK!"
"Dude, I just killed your zombified mom for you. You taught about shotguns, remember?"
Proceeds to empty multiple Tec-9 clips into my face and chest
That’s how doing NPC quests usually go for me. Then, I make a powerful cannibal, get awesome weapons, hunt these NPCs down, and eat them.

Thats why you dont hold your guns when next to/remotely near to NPCs.

Holed up in my Evac Sheltered turned into base that’s next to a river. About to attack a megastore full of about fifty+ zombies but it’s fine, I have a zweihander and prepared a zone of pits I prepared earlier that will slow them down enough to hack away with glee.

Spawned in an evac shelter next to the river.
Walked a short while.
Found an apartment tower IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE
There is no town in sight, just two caves, lots of wildlife, some target practice fellow humans, and another apartment tower on the other side of the river
Did it happen to anyone else here, or did one of the mods i installed cause this? .-.

What mods were installed?

What settings did you have for the town size?

Town size was 6
As for the mods - it was XProffesions(doubt this one is the reason), Extended Cataclysm v1.0a and all mods(except dinosaur one) that were packed with windows SDL version of cataclysm 0.A.
It might be a pretty interesting world though, just a bit harder to survive if it all looks like this xD

Well,I’ve now gotten rid of my cold and have replaced a car battery and tires to get myself a working vehicle, this city seems to be running dry anyway.
