I have looked online to see any real life sources of a guillotine trap and sorry man but there don’t seem to be any so in terms of realism I am not sure if it would be the best but I agree some new traps would be amazing such as a crossbow or Oh yeah the shotgun trap already exists) or a falling log based trap…Although now that I think about it my lead concern with this is the fact that most people don’t bother with items such as the bear trap in this game at the moment because they merely slightly damage the enemy which if it was reality(or neo scavanger) and against humans would be a good thing due to them being susceptible to infection and or bleeding out but we are against zombies and other undead creatures and this is cataclysm dda…
Let’s stick to weapons of the hand held variety and or pit based mass damaging weapons because this game is not built for items such as this
well what about giving the player access to triggers inputs/outputs? This seems like a great stride forward for the paranoid survivor. Admittedly a lot of work, but not even addressed…
Oh yes I think that the wireless activation to triggers would be a brilliant idea especially with explosives that can level a house as it would remove the annoyance of the timer on most explosives plus I could have a self destruct mechanism on my house…Yea that would be badass
btw yes I know a bear trap immobilizes the enemy for a few turns but a shotgun/sword immobilizes them for a eternity and doesn’t annoy you to set up and or piss you off when more than one enemy is nearby, its not an issue with the item or the way it was implemented its a issue with the combat style and the RPG style of the game itself making the trap impractical
wasnt the original point of this post was someone asked for ideas too impliment ingame, but never got around too doing it? and yet there is 75pages of people posting in it. is it just full of ideas for weapons and etc?
I sort of assumed that this was simply a ideas pool at this point after seeing that the author had not returned and no moderators deactivated the page so…Erm it’s their will that prevented this from becoming a necrocrosis ridden post

However, I’d imagine any sort of “falling stuff trap” should be set-uppable by the player if they have the proper lifting equipment to lift the particular weight of stuff up, and can drop it quickly enough to catch something.
On the other point, I imagine the beartrap is much quieter than the shotgun trap, and due to the reduced damage is good for hunting or home defense without drawing the attention of zombies three blocks over. It’s also cheaper to set up (reusable many times).
And since the shotgun trap doesn’t guarantee death and doesn’t have any direct slowing effect on zombies, it may not even save you in situations a beartrap could.
My idea I posted on here actually got in game and was still there last I checked: rock in a sock. Thank you Rivet for putting it in, its like my only real contribution to the game and I still love that it got in. Especially after I realized the slock (padlock in a sock) was like a real thing. Thanks again Rivet for putting my idea in the game and everyone else, it is possible that putting your idea here will get in.

The rock in a sock is both hilarious and useful. Just about every profession starts with socks and rock are everywhere, win-win. Now if only we had a brick in a sock.
I think there should be a book that teaches recipes for everything in socks - if not a book, then maybe just a mod so you can get your sock weapon fix.
Think of the possibilities.
Manhack in a sock. Grenade in a sock. Blob canister in a sock. Jackhammer in a sock.

the manhack, i dont see a purpose for it. maybe u can throw it somewhere, then it activates where it lands and a manhack comes out? a grenade in a sock sounds like it can be used to allow further throwing distance, maybe. blob canister similar to the manhack. and the jackhammer, well, i don’t think that would fit.
My fav was grenade in a sock, and manhack in a sock, but I would be really impressed with anyone who could steal a sock from a creature large enough to hold a jack/jacquehammer
Fitting one of them in a sock would be kinda impressive
Fitting a loaded AK-47 in a dress shirt and a purse is equally impressive :P
I’m also really shocked they haven’t made the highest volume container you have on you being a hard cap of the largest item you can store in your inv…

To be honest, that doesn’t apply well to clothing, as (for instance) cargo pants have multiple pockets to give them their high storage.
