Any tips on base building?
At the moment I have a couple of options. There’s my original emergency shelter… or just to the north there’s a small military base that comes with a fence around it.
I’m not sure what the rules are about where various enemies can spawn.
I’ve never seen standard zombies near the shelter, but a zombie bear smashed through a window and came after me. For some reason everything I fired at it bounced off until I used a .45 Super round.
Anyway, I want to avoid that happening again.
Should I move into the bunker? Should I stay where I am?
Either way, what should I be trying to do regarding traps, additional walls, gates, pits etc?
i generally stay on the move until i find on LMOE shelter. concrete walls with a metal door means it’s pretty much impossible for nasties to get in(provided you remember to close the door when you go in/out!), it’s isolated so it’s unlikely that any nasties will be around to try to get in, and since the main complex is under ground your sleep won’t be disturbed by any turrets you may have set up blowing away the rare nasty which straggles out your way.
i like to build a palisade wall around the entrance to my LMOE shelter, then place several turrets around the perimeter. however, the first time i ever actually completed my palisade and placed the turrets i discovered a couple of things:
your turrets may accidentally shoot each other, so place a log wall or other view obstructing object between each turret.
your turrets will hit your vehicle if it’s in their line of fire, so either park it a good ways away or build a garage for it inside your palisade.
