Also, the negative trait Poor Hearing. Not only it is useful in more circumstances that it is disadvantegous at, you also gwt 2 trait points for it. Quite a win-win, really.
No. Long-term activities such as learning a written language and aging in general are unsupported by game code. Would be nice to have, in addition to family mechanics and barrel wear.

except for the part where a zombie is almost guarenteed to bash through your windshield before you can hear them if you take poor hearing or heavy sleeper.
they are indeed, it’s still a first good stop for training right out of the box, if one’s around as you’ll almost always get surrounded.
still, don’t underestimate being surrounded entirely, especially very early on.

I take both poor hearing and heavy sleeper. Just sleep in a safe place - or, if they do get to you, you’ll wake up when they attack you.
never run across one - all the safes I’ve ever found took a lockpick, an electrohack, or a stethoscope to get into. You can also bash them open, but that runs the risk of damaging the stuff inside (usually only really breakable stuff, like stuff in glass bottles, is at any serious risk).
Smash it. Jackhammering will destroy normal safes, but it doesn’t seem to affect electronic gun safes. For that, a sledgehammer will suffice. As I recall, even a survivor with 8 strength can eventually bash it open. Same for normal safes.
Will probably smash any glass items contained inside, which is usually just purifier.
to make sure i don’t accidentally close the safe on the items i use advanced item mode / and move everything behind me before even checking what they are.
I think the needed NPC for the “Deal with informant” quest was killed before I could talk to him - any way to respawn him or mark the quest as finished?
