Making smokeless powder is possible. Just kind of dangerous . We would need the right tools to tone down the risk. Unless you wanna risk blowing up while you make it and blowing up while firing a gun
The Walking Dead is gonna start airing soon, we’ll probably see the fat guy with the mullet try to fabricate bullets/gunpowder.
We shall learn so much.
Then why can I build a hypervelocity magnetic rail driver which is man portable and would probably need to break the laws of physics to actually do what it does in game?
Just seems weird. There’s a super complex system for weapon modding, but we’re pushed towards using the (ludicrously) high tech weapons because they’re EASIER to keep supplied with ammo assuming they are UPS powered. Less so now that acid rain seems to have been removed from the game, mind you. I still have thousands of batteries but I can’t just make them from rainwater now.
And those weapons can’t actually use mods as far as I know? Actually I’m not sure if I checked. Hmm… Time to take another look.
On another note, I’m using an outdated experimental. Were explosions completely worthless a while back or is it just me? Even if you use something like an explosive shotgun round, the explosion is MASSIVE but doesn’t seem very effective in terms of damage. It should be the complete opposite of that.
balance and reelism.
I could blacklist the railgun from my mod if itll make you feel better.

I’m using the 5025 version right now. I think explosions were fixed a while back (4000s-ish) because the blast radius’ were a bit smaller (at least I thought so) and I remember using grenades frequently.
You can make the acid from rainwater.
Some power, time, and maybe some salt.
So I’m raiding an electronics store and I’ve found a number of both screwdrivers and screwdriver sets - Which should I take with me? They both have the same screwdriving and fine-screwdriving quaity, but the screwdriver set takes up more volume. That said, having a number of screwdrivers must have some advantage over having the one philips-head affair, right?
It’s not supposed to have the same stats. Please make a report.
Whup, my bad, I went back and re-read the two objects, only the Screwdriver Set has fine screwdriving. False alarm! I am way sleepier than I thought I was, haha.
Nah, I have turbolasers anyway so the railgun isn’t that overpowered.
Also, turns out you can use some mods on energy weapons etc.
I’m just a little frustrated right now since I have a HUGE pile of guns but relatively little ammunition.
Just broke down a ridiculous amount of .22 and crafted quite a lot of .300 Magnum for the Weatherby Mark V though. It’s comparable to the .50 BMG rifle on the stats screen which seems kind of insane.
… But seems to be bouncing off zombies an awful lot doing crap damage. Wtf???
Assuming you can find nitric acid, a smokeless analog is actually pretty easy. As you say though, the burn rate is kind of an unknown quantity (though repeatable), so it’s something you’d want to play with first rather than just loading shit up with.
Blackpowder does not take months, unless you are using a truly oldschool method. Rather than peeing in a pit or whatever, a guy can use some pretty basic kitchenware and have a decent quantity in a few hours.
If you can make low grade meth, you likely have all the tools and chemistry knowledge to make either of the above.

50s have greater Armor piercing values than 300 mags, and zombies have armor values.
Is there any way for me to assign hotkeys to the various options on the Item Action Menu? So far the only item that has a shortcut on my own item action menu is the sewing/tailor kit, for repairing clothes, but I’d love to be able to somehow assign buttons to other items on that list - especially for lockpicking.

I thought it might be that. Weird that my shotgun is piercing zombies perfectly well though…
Also, I’ve just encountered a really strange problem. I went on an adventure and found a MK19 grenade machine gun. Dragged it back to my motorbike and took it home. SOMEHOW, and I don’t know how, I ended up with yellow severity damage on most of my body. Might have been due to carrying way too much? I don’t know. Anyway I got it home OK and dumped everything… only to find that now I don’t seem able to sleep.
As in my character has gone an entire day without getting tired. He seems to be unable to get tired. Help? I know this has its upsides but I can’t naturally heal…
How does one actually craft a nodachi? I can’t keep my Fabrication at 10 long enough to actually finish it and there aren’t any books that go higher. Should I just debug myself an extra level of Fabrication so I can actually make it?
Turn off skill rust. I recall seeing somewhere here about a year ago that even devs don’t play with it.
I do.
Its not that attritious. Just use the skills you possess. Turns out if you grind-cheese your way to 10 electronics and then live like a caveman your skill will decrease over the year.
The issue I’m having right now is that keeping it at 10 long enough is a catch-22 dilemma. Everything that you can craft at level 9 or 10 takes a huge amount of time to make. Reading a book to reach level 10 puts you at 10 (0%), which, without insanely high INT, rusts back down to 9 in a matter of hours. If I read the book, then start work on the sword the tick I put the book down, my skill goes back to 9 before I can finish the sword. My previous workaround was to partially read the book to give me a percentage buffer that kept my skill high enough, but there are no 11 crafting books and all the 9/10 crafting projects take so long to make that it is literally impossible for me to create a buffer by making items.
I’m probably just going to disable it. It adds nothing, really. It’s not like I use Forgetful for free points anymore…
You would probably need the enhanced memory CBM to get around that particular nuisance.

There is a book named Weapons of Asgard, it can increase your fabrication to 12. ( i assume its from mythological replicas addon )
