Its not weak when its the only thing you have.

In fact, it’s priceless at the game start. Easy to obtain ammo, 5-shot bursts which will take down almost every zombie easily, low damage to hunt down squirrels and rabbits. And very low noise.

Ok, so I’ve found an odd problem…

Firstly, I thought I was playing version 0.6 because the window says “0.6git” at the top.

but I just noticed that the title screen says it’s 0.7.1-870-g1771d14.

Anyway, I was reading the Wiki and it seems to be saying that you can craft bionics from burned out bionics when you reach level 7 electronics.

Which I just have. But there’s no sign of any option to fix the burned out bionic units.

What’s going on? The stuff on the wiki isn’t from an experimental build is it?

Go to the crafting menu, electronics.

If that doesn’t work, you probably need an experimental build.

Some of the version numbers are hardcoded and don’t always update properly. Trust the title screen.

You can craft some CBMs using burnt out bionics, but you also need some other sutff for that, depending on the CBM.

Yeah but shouldn’t the recipe be showing up in dark text to show that I need to find more stuff to use the recipe?

It just doesn’t seem to be there at all.

What version do you know this crafting to work in?

It works in 0.7.1, and was working recently in the experimental build.

EDIT: I just checked it using debug mode, and now you need First Aid 5 in addition to electronic to craft the CBMs.

Find a Big Book of First Aid (Mil. Surplus or Sporting Goods stores tend to have them) to get it to 3. After that, I’m not sure if there’s a method aside from constantly getting yourself injured and bandaged - formerly you could have simply crafted loads of bandages, but I think the new skill system precludes that.

As far as I know, there are no medical textbooks to raise First Aid past 3.

Well, that’s irritating… although I have over 50 bandages so that’s an option.

It does seem to be a bit of a gap in the skill books - a Gray’s Anatomy and/or Surgical Textbook to take First Aid up through higher levels seems like a reasonably likely find in a library, doctor’s office or hospital.

Otherwise it’s not an easy skill to level in the current build, unless I’m missing a method.

I noticed the devs have added a fancy system to prevent overlapping letters in the inventory, they assigned (`) to be a “select your letters” key, problem is, after the following message popping up: “Enter 2 letters (CASE SENSITIVE)” i just can’t seem to enter the 2nd letter. How do i enter the 2nd letter? Been trying everything from TAB to <,> and nuthin’ so please, if anyone knows how to enter the 2nd letter please tell me.

I see. Well, if that’s the case i think my version is bugged, i’d like to update to the latest version, but i have my most succesful character up to date, could anyone tell me if the latest builds have support for old saves?

im pretty sure it would break your save file as it did for mine when i updated from 0.7.1 to the last week experimentals.
You should get a message saying Profession not found ’ ’ or something similar. I think its because new values were added to the character like the assembling (or whatever its called) skill

There have been over 1000 changes from 7.1 to the latest experimental (Average comes out to something like 1 code change/update per hour) so yeah, save compatibility is broken.

You could hypothetically recreate your character with the Wish menu and skills debug menu though.
