It’s interesting to note that skills seem to have a bigger impact than stats; this char has melee of 15 and cutting 13 with 0 in every start was still Crit for 90+ with biojutsu (bionic combat) and the monomolecular blade

On other thing I wanted to mention I noticed in game sound effects and eerie music when the zombies appear but I never heard that stuff after that only on the front end when cycling through the options, is there a way to get that stuff back on or is it to do with my old character saves that’s breaking it?

How’s does genetic instability and chaos work? When I got chaos I was expecting to be sprouting mutations like John carpenter’s The Thing as a chimera but all it seems to do is pingpong between two mutations like thick tail and spiked tail or the stat traits like extremely to very and back.

On another subject I was messing around with builds a few experimental back and found that bionic athlete + venom mob scorpion style is disgusting: hydrolic muscles, adrenal and that stinger kick was getting me crits of 225 on day zero plus that knock back is amazing for getting zombies off your back

What’s the difference between a military seat and a regular seat? Noticed while I was working on my car a bit I noticed that the military seat requires a welder while the regular seat does not. In addition the military seat has a capacity of 0 while the regular seat has a capacity of 100. The regular seat has a bit higher durability too. Obviously there must be some sort of advantage to the military seat but I can’t work out what it is

It gives you a random mutation once in a while. Mutation selection favors upgrading mutations you have and removing mutation that don’t fit your highest category.
It can get locked up in pingpong for a while, depending on RNG. May be related to the fact that categories for traits aren’t inclusive enough (ie. “weakening” is in elf-a, but “deterioration” is in alpha and so no longer in elf-a).

The issue is what gives capacity - there can only be one thing installed on each square that gives any kind of capacity, so if you want a turret that uses ammo (machine gun, for instance) and a seat to sit in and use it (say, while driving, or something), you need a seat that gives no capacity. That’s really the only thing I know of.

I think the military seat should also give higher durability, but it’s not that big a deal either way.

Can fungi spread while outside of my reality bubble? And can they cross bodies of water like rivers? I have a fungal tower on the other side of the river and i am wondering wether to grab what i can and run or if it’s harmless to me.

Unless it’s changed recently, not only can they cross water, they can happily LIVE in water, and getting them out of it is essentially impossible! So yeah, stay away from water near fungaloids.

I just did my first mine raids a couple days ago. First one had a pedestal with a petrified eye on it, is there supposed to be something after that? The second one didn’t even have that, it just stopped at a dead end.

Im pretty sure you can progress beyond that. And that they arent new.
And with Zlevels on it is very, very apparent that the pedestal is not the lowest level of the mine. Though Im not sure if its just a spiral cavern or not, tbh.

with construction you can dig down and one of tools is jackhammer i think so technicaly yes

I am a bear, so I’m huge. Haven’t found anything but a blanket that I can wear so far. Can a bear ever wear power armor? What is the best gear set (including storage) for a bear?

As far as digging down goes, if you’re playing with extra dakka for your vehicles (And you should be) there is ALWAYS a spiral cavern under a mine finale. It’s just only one finale actually has stairs down to it already. Cracking it is a great end-game option for death mobiles, for that sweet sweet cargo dimension. Which is good because if you’re like me you’ll need more than one.

About mines, my only experience with them was extremely weird. Everyone keeps talking about this “finale” which I assume has some sort of boss, yet I did not find a single entity except one Dark Wyrm, along with some miner gear. After traveling a few Z levels down, I reach a dead end (fairly sure it was), and as I was searching for a entrance to continue, the ENTIRE cavern began to fill up with toxic gas, so I just left the place. Is this supposed to happen?

You got to keep going down. Bring gas mask.

Maybe I’m missing something, but I’ve never found anything in a spiral cavern that contributes to making cargo dimensions… the rare piece for a cargo dimension is the portal generator.

I noticed a new color on item names, a darker grey. What does it represent?
