How does wheel size or wheel type affect the vehicle in regards to performance? Does adding more wheels beyond the requirement yield any benefits or consequences?
Have you check the weather and map tiles? If headlights are loaded off-tile, within even a short distance, they don’t shine and I’d expect solar panels would behave the same way, and it seems even cloudy at noon is enough to render the solar panels ineffective. Pure sunny is not too common iirc, what with the 12 hour thunderstorms.
Edit: I think I noticed some of the behavior… it seems to charge only when you’re on the car, any space. I’m going to make a mention in the bug section.
I’ve been driving it around and spent a day making beef jerky in the car while the sun was shining outside. I have made sure that they were on boards that are labelled out. Not sure what you mean by loaded off map. If you mean load a character near the car, I’ve been doing that. The solar panels are closer than the headlights and the headlights still work.
Be ready to chug purifiers if you want to go down the road of mutations cause it is a perilous road… im talking about radioactivity for that is deadly O-o, giving hundreds of radiation points within a short time… then murdering you
He means if the map unloads but the headlight should shine that far it won’t.
Do not take this advice, I had a solar car from a mid/late June build, and with 7 solar panels and nine batteries I never got below 70% fuel, even with two engines. When I had only one engine, 4 solar panels 5 batteries was enough to never have me down below 90%, but I beefed up the car in-between those two points.
I think the only ‘bug’ is something to do with it takes the base frame-piece of the car into consideration for whether or not it’s in sunlight, which has caused some issue somewhere else.
If i2amroy says they are kinda bugged, I would in fact take that advice.
According to the wiki, “Wide” wheels don’t trigger traps. http://www.wiki.cataclysmdda.com/index.php?title=Vehicles
I’ve got a problem. I’m wearing a sweater (warmth 40), but I’m still getting the wet status effect.
Here’s what the wiki says:
You can prevent this state or remove it by wearing a rain coat or any single piece of torso clothing of warmth of 35 or more,
Help?

Logic fail? I wouldn’t be surprised if i got wet with a sweater.
I have a question: with classic zombies off there will be some random occurences of portals and other things right? Where do those things (the ones who come from the portals/anomalies)come from? hell?
Yes, if you are not in Classic Zombies mode you will see more creatures and/or buildings (for example, Science Labs).
There is a lot of interesting information stored on the computers in Science Labs.
I’ll check them out, haven’t given it any observation yet.
On portals, what the heck are they for?
I found one, walked into it, nothing, and also made some using a generator, still nothing.

I believe they spawn horrible monstrosities in the nearby area, I generally avoid them after I loot stuff nearby.
After reading this post I then looked at your username, and the gears in my mind went overdrive. Also, I’m pretty sure someone did a test and it turns out even unpurified water from a funnel provides the least chance of food poisining (which isn’t all too bad)
Okay, this question has been bugging me for some time, so I’ve gotta ask…
What the hell does focus do? The only thing that it even remotely is mentioned for on the wiki is for skill books. So if I don’t plan on grinding on books, is there any reason for me to keep my morale remotely positive? (And yes, I do know know that you need to be above a certain level of morale to craft. I’m talking making it positive, not keeping it neutral.)
Focus replaced the old system of XP points.
Instead of a maximum pool of 800 XP points that gets used up until you refill it, the new Focus system allows you to always gain skill, even if you have a low Focus. However, the higher your Focus, the faster your skills improve; the lower it is, the slower your skill gains will be.
Basically, it means that you no longer have to watch your XP pool and run back to base to sit around until your XP pool refills, but you can still benefit from resting and relaxing (improving your Focus) if you want to accelerate your skill improvement.
Why does my fire get doused even in a fireplace?
Quick question, is there any particular way to install headlights?
I wanted to put some on the back of a flatbed in addition to the two on the front, but whenever I turn on the headlights light only comes form the front.

They can only be installed on the front, IIRC.
Hey guys, i have a question(again, sorry):
I have raided a town, looted mostly everything and killed like 87% of the zombies there. I have food, i have water, i have guns and ammo(plenty for most of my guns). My weapons include a wood axe, a M4, a railgun, a H&K UCP, a Remington 870, a sawn off shotgun, a crossbow and a S&W .22(stocked up in my shelter along with ammo, food, etc.).
I’m a little encumbered in my torso(where i take most hits)but my kevlar vest usually protects me well, my legs are also protected(my arms are not).
I don’t know if i should migrate yet or try to set up base in my shelter(where i have my things), there is a car nearby and i know where to find a gas pump, i could also wait a little more and polish my skills(they’re not so good, except for dodge, blades and melee).
So what do you suggest? What should i do? Risk migrating? Set up base?
