Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

If I recall, 0.C experimentals was the point when encumbrance granularity was added, yeah.

Likely won’t get added to stable until 0.D is a thing.

SOOOOO glad I play experimental. So much more FUn!!

On a side note it looks like you don’t trigger your own traps which is good. Though you can still set them off when trying to disarm them.

O.o would be awful to trigger nailboard trap while disarming it…
you lose your balance and fall face first into the nailboard trap while trying to disarm it -_- yeah… coarse I did. Just glad that…NPC walks around corner and starts laughing. shogun to the face Nothing more to do here…

You threw a samurai at him? o3o

XD typo. But yes. I threw a shogun in his face. Everyone knows that shogun to the face can be used in a wide variety of circumstances.

If only my typos were that entertaining. ;A;

I really should toy around with traps more.

agreed. Also perhaps A cage area where I can torment unsuspecting reviving zombies to death…repeatedly. Not for cruel or unusual reasons, but so I can train combat skills whenever they want to rust.

This is actually pretty easy - basic zombies (and tough zombies, and probably a few others that won’t turn into the bigger guys on their own) can’t bash through basic walls or metal doors when alone. Build (or find) and area with walls, add metal door, done.

Concrete/stone walls are even better, of course, and I use labs like that all the time - built in metal doors!

I was thinking child zombie or regular, or crawler zombie.

Broken cyborgs are GREAT trainers - they don’t bite (so no infection), their damage is very low, and they have high enough hp that only extreme characters (that no longer need any training) are going to have a chance of pulping/gibbing them. They max out dodge training at 3, unfortunately, but that’s also low enough that they are great to start training on even at 0 dodge.

Scientists are also fairly good, being low damage and not very good at melee. They do rarely do some mutationy things to you, but to make up for it, they let you farm manhacks for plutonium.

Labs are really hard to beat for melee training, once you manage to do get yourself killed by turrets.

Arn’t cyborgs rogue machines though? I wasn’t thinking they were considered zombies and could revive.

They definitely revive. I’ve been using them as trainers for a LONG time, and whenever I move into a lab, I generally try to leave them all unbutchered until I get all my skills high enough that they don’t provide good training anymore.

I also generally use the advanced inventory management to move them to a room without a dissector so I get to actually train on them instead of finding their corpse on the dissector.

so you plan on making a child zombie camp to torture unsuspecting visitors

And with a trap that unleashes antlered horrors if any “visitors” pulp all the zeds?

XD thats a good method I suppose.

How do you normally deal with chicken walkers… Run it over with a jeep.

Best option. A LAW solves quite a lot of problems too.

Hmm no shopping carts or wheelbarrows in sight. what’s a reasonable replacement?

If you have to make a drag box from scratch, get enough wood and nails to make 2 wooden frames (and a hammer, obviously). If I recall, the humble wooden box has a mechanics skill requirement of 0.
