I found Hackpro… Ah, so it counts as an crafting ingredient? I’ll have a go.
Also, could someone please explain how battery swapping works?
My tank says it has about 80% of the total battery capacity filled, but whenever I remove a storage battery to go and charge it, the blasted thing seems to be fully charged.
Shouldn’t the charge be shifting over to the other installed batteries? I’m not sure how I can take out the storage batteries and charge them.
You’ll find the same problem if you have a large amount of fuel tanks. Best thing to do is just have a small number of storage batteries-- a full storage battery is enough to power a lot of stuff continually as long as you have a few solar panels to keep it topped up.
To start draining three storage batteries noticeably (with about 12 solar panels, so about 4 per battery) I had to run headlights, floodlights, Police/ambulance flashers, aisle lights, three minifridges and about 8 laser turrets firing at pretty much full rate outside a mall. Not to mention security cameras and using the welding rig to repair stuff.
But what is actually causing the problem? Is there any way around it?
I want as much battery power as possible because I have turbolasers and the tank is running on multiple enhanced electric engines with no backups. (Can’t install them due to the skill requirement.)
You could create multiple folding 4x3 solar fields and install a battery on them after unfolding, waiting for full charge, then uninstall and fold up. There you go, full charge.
I’m already using an external charging system and transferring the batteries. The problem is that the batteries I’m trying to uninstall as empty and replace are coming out as full.
When the vehicle is NOT at max capacity.
But I’m curious anyway. How do you make foldable solar arrays? Can you store them in cargo spaces?

Are there other batteries on the vehicle? Those are likely the ones at less than full capacity. And you need to ensure every part of the solar array is made of foldable parts.
When there are several batteries in a solar farm vehicle, the charge instantly flows to fill batteries up. A grid with 5 batteries and 80% charge will have 4 batteries topped up and an empty one. I wasn’t able to conclude if it flows to the youngest or oldest or whatever battery on the grid.

Yeah you can store them in cargo spaces if they aren’t much bigger than 4x3. And you need foldable light frames and solar panels. That’s it. Also need the folding parts mod.
I’m having some trouble with mounting guns on my vehicle…
What are the rules for positioning mounted weapons (also turrets)?
I was trying to build a box of boards around a seat and put a mounted weapon on the seat along with driving controls but… it’s not letting me. I can’t tell why. As far as I can tell it’s basically the same situation as the original 120mm tank cannon and seat of this tank.
I tried taking off the board in front of the seat and removing the solar panel headlight and floodlight from that same space. Now it’s saying I can install just about any mounted weapon on the tile in front of the seat, but on the seat itself it only lets me install a flamethrower or water cannon or lots of energy weapons I don’t have.
HELP?!
I’m thinking maybe it’s something to do with the ammo storage? Like it doesn’t want to put a gun with solid ammo in a hopper above a seat because something funky happens with both having storage? I’ll try replacing it with a military seat…
VICTORY! Yes, turns out you can only mount guns on military or foldable seats.
How do I get out of this lab?
I did the challenge mode where I tried it, and after getting mowed down by turrets, I’ve wised up slightly. (Always peek around corners. Also, turrets give off light.) I’m geared up, most of my clothing fits me, and I even managed to install an integrated chronometer without any skill in electronics. Still, it’d be nice to see the surface world.
[EDIT: Oh, shit. Are armored zombies new? I’ve never seen one before, but apparently it’s a zed encased in a suit of power armor.]

Apparently there’s four different types of labs you can start in, if you select one during character creation.
Not sure if this is common knowledge or not.
