I have yet to see ANYTHING a hulk can’t bash through.
Concrete wall, your new name is Mr Rubble.

a shoggoth?

You know what, I take that back - I haven’t seen anything (except 0.C flaming eye beams) that gets through steel walls (bunkers, bank vaults).
So yeah, there is that. Though I expect that a few hulks working together could do it.
Is anything harder then if you set the zombie spawn at 50.00, max out town size, surrounding start, add fast zombie mod, and nightvision zombies?
I want to see how long I can survive.

Unmodded, yeah, that seems about the most insane I can think of.
Somebody did make a mod that made zombies do more damage… I don’t think it ever got mainlined, though.

I’d give the average first day survivor five minutes, tops.
That’s roughly around the time their stamina would give out and the resulting horde would catch up and dogpile em. It does sound like a good acid test for a relatively unstoppable endgame survivor though, I’ll have to try it out sometime.
So, I’ve been playing on Slow Zombies since I started, since that’s the closest to “realistic” that I can think of, but it just gets way too easy by the second season that it’s not even fun. I only died because I had hulks spawn on multiple sides of me just around a corner. So for my newest world, I took off slow zombies, regular speed, so on and so forth.
How on EARTH do people actually play like this? Even basic zombies outrun you 100% of the time; with the Black Belt start, Quick, Krav Maga, and ~4 each in unarmed and melee (for testing), I was still only landing one hit on zombies for every 2-3 they’d get on me. I’m getting trashed in the first two minutes every time. What am I missing? I didn’t set Fast Zombies, just normal speed.
I’ll just assume that the time I had two hulks spawn on day 1 outside my shelter was a fluke, of course.

I hope that it’s compatible with experimental, I also decided to max out zombie evolution time, and I lowered item frequency for this play through which I affectionately name: 5 Minute Survival.

I’ve learned that taking on more than one normal zombie at a time as a fresh survivor is almost guaranteed death (fast zombies mod). Lure single enemies away to favorable terrain if you can. Run when outnumbered using doors and noisemakers to distract and block line of sight. Armor up before you engage enemies but keep encumbrance as low as you can manage.
I found and awl pike in a mansion, apparently it can be used it to perform a long reach attack. How is this done?
Fire it like a gun (f).
Shooting z down with a spear like a baws!
Nice. No monsters around atm but I did smash a window with it from a tile away, seems to work quite well.
Next question, where is the best place to find the latest information on what’s changed in the latest experimentals? I figured it would be easy to find information but I’ve been looking for awhile and nothing… The downloads are easy enough to find, where’s the list of changes though?
never use an awl pike in melee. Its way to slow. Only ever attack from afar (its has a range of 2 tiles farther then melee . exploit this or throw the weapon away)

thx!

Yeah, I just noticed the huge action point cost. I found a broadsword in the same mansion, I think I’ll stick with that as my main.
Make sure that its not a dull replica .
A broadsword can be used with the fencing stile. If your lucky and find a book on that stile in the mansion you ll be very effective in melee.
Another source for changes:

I don’t know what is shown or not !

I’ve already used it to clear all the z’s from the mansion, getting like 30-40 damage/swing. I’m assuming that’s a pretty good indication that it’s legit?
The weapons discription will tell you whether its a replica if you want to make sure.

You think you’ll actually make it 5 minutes? Heh.
Low item frequency will indeed make it even worse (to the point of just plain stupid silliness, I think), but evolution is highly unlikely to matter.
