ok well I seem to be doing all of that, and once this flu passes I should be doing better. Would you call a possum safe to eat? Yes or no I’m gonna eat that sucker, I need the food.
Yes, just cook it first. Raw meat can contain all kinds of nasty parasites, but cooked meat is always safe.
Those damn parasites are worse than any influenza.
Took ages to figure out what was wrong with my stomach and EVEN longer to find the meds.
Last I tested it, control laptops have range 10, and in the current experimental, turrets have range 18 (perhaps longer with proper light?)… which makes it impossible to go up the stairs in a lap start without being range of the turret. Ouch.
You could try the low-encumbrance setup I’ve use most of the time.
Thermal electric outfit, optional, but it covers all body parts for sun protection for albinos.
Survivor trenchcoat.
Elbow pads, can’t recall if I used these. If their layer is close to skin remove them since it’ll get in the way of the thermal outfit.
Long sleeve shirt, also optional.
Light survivor harness.
Tactical dump pouch.
Light survivor mask.
Two helmet nettings.
Heavy survivor helmet.
Survivor cargo pants.
Drop leg pouches.
Light survivor boots and gloves.
Aside from the head, the other body parts have encumbrance below 10. With a packmule trait, and internal storage, total volume you can carry is a decent 142.
Are you insane? You’d still roast in that outfit. He was complaining about too much warmth, not too much encumbrance. :V

Sometimes the turret i not in the main corridor of the top level. I also think that turret doesn’t shoot you immediately, so you have 1 turn to do something (i.e. teleport, since there’s no other way to exit the top level without a science ID that early in the game, due to explosive nerf)
My outfit is fine, just gotta find some Drop leg pouches, and I don’t know why I didn’t think of the double helmet netting. also Im not far enough in for the survivor gear.
That gear also doesn’t have a lot of warmth either.
I’ve found pretty much any gear with 5 or more warmth to get you rather hot though. ;_;
I actually found a Karate and Judo book, have only read Karate so far though. It’s good for mopping up trash but I always end up drawing my gun for a boomer/bloat or because I’m out of Stamina. Speaking of being out of stamina, what are the downsides? I’ve seen no repercussions in the terms of messages or status effects, and my stamina stays at : for like more than 10 minutes game time. Even on my bicycle I can still go 25-30 mph after all my stamina is gone.
Should I bother learning Judo at all? Better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it? I think it could be useful if it actually stops throws from hulks/brutes since it’s just a switch away, and my unarmed it about 4 already just from karate choppin’ zeds.
the ‘out of breath’ status affect has many negative status affects but only lasts for a short time, including reducing your intelligence and other main stats as well as affecting your hunger and thirst.
I’m currently playing the stable 0.C release. I noticed that all my stats are inexplicably falling down by small amounts, but I have no ill conditions on my status screen. What might be the cause?
Definitely both noob question but probably worth asking.
- Do turrets run out of ammo?
- Do zombies and other creatures gain skill like your character? Or at all as an individual?
Reason I ask is that I’ve got this bizarre situation where zombies have been wandering towards these turrets at a road block and getting gunned down… but they appear to have stopped firing and are now sitting there whilst the zombies do what is comparatively waving their arms at the motionless things.

I’ve never found a lab without the central turret. Sometimes they have additional turrets in the side rooms.
They also don’t ALWAYS give you a turn… but usually. I’ve taken to collecting the goo canisters to give the turret targets to waste its ammo on.
As to escape, in a large lab, there’s a decent chance you’ll get what you need to make an electric jackhammer, so there’s also that. Biggest problem there is that you need a real hammer or the integrated tool set, and getting a real hammer in a lab is a serious rarity.
Watch the clock. I’ve found that it generally take 2 turns to do things instead of one when out of stamina. Since the game only moves when you do, the effect is not incredibly obvious (though monsters suddenly seem faster).
As to the bike, that may be a bug? Stamina is new, and pedal-powered vehicles may not take it into account just yet.

YES, thank goodness.

I’m not a dev, but I’m pretty sure the answer is No across the board, even for NPCs.
Huzzah! Means that the turrets can serve as distractions whilst I ‘sneak’ behind them!
If I want to play around with Z-levels, should I use the Tall Buildings mod or turn on experimental z-levels in the world gen options?
Answering my own question: It seems to be radiation. I had found a fire station with rubble, and made it my base. You’d think a status effect would accompany the stat loss?
I’d say just do both honestly, but it’s kind of up to you. Your game world and all.

I’ve never actual had radiation sickness, so I don’t know if it is that, but I do know that the status screen doesn’t tell you everything. For example it doesn’t tell when you get tetanus. And if you fall to the ground with muscle spasms that might be what you have, actually.
