Peeking only places you in the adjacent spot for a single draw, not even a single turn. If it sees you before you see it, it may be due to field of vision being asymmetric, but not due to peeking.
Depending on your version, some mugworts oil might also work.
Hope you have at least cooking 5.
Is there a way to speed the game up? Not sure if it’s due to a large amount of map being revealed, or something, but the game seems to be slower now, like with driving and saving.

I’ve just had a bout of recurring blindness and pain. I don’t have Blood Analysis yet, but Blood filter didn’t fix it. I have some anti-fungal stuff, but I left it pretty far away, so I ate my emergency royal jelly so fix it.
I have recently fought a bunch of fungaloids, but I have full survival gear, and I don’t have any of the usual fungus symptoms… ?
From the symptoms it sounds like you’ve contracted an intracranial visitor.
Try eating a course or two of antiparasitic drugs or bark tea.
Fun - where would I have gotten that? The only thing I’ve eaten without cooking was fluid sacs, and the only enemies I’ve fought recently are a variety of zombies and some fungaloids/fungal zombies.
I’m getting a sneaky suspicion that nothing is safe, no one can be trusted and bark tea should be the first thing one prepares after achieving relative safety =X
Most likely causes are either having z-levels on, or large swarms of enemies in the reality bubble.
I;ve heard that the SDL version supposedly runs faster on windows (assuming you have windows machine). I personally have never noticed a difference however.
Could be worth a try.

Where to find gunsmith repair kit? Gunstores, I presume? Is it craftable? Can it drop as a loot item from monsters?
A little more advanced question: Let’s assume that at some point it did drop from any of the hundreds of zeds I’ve run over in the past, and it’s still out there somewhere, lying on the street, could I find out its location in savegame files?
No idea about #2 but both the firearm repair kit and the gunsmith repair kit may spawn in the gunsture.
And possibly mansions aswell ( Altho that could just be the firearm repair kit ) Likewise the firearm repair kit is craftable but i dunno about the gunsmith repair kit :F
How do I shot laser beams?
I’ve found a LACP pistol, an advanced UPS, even a few plutonium to power the UPS up. But when I tried to reload the LACP it just says ‘Out of ammo!’
Same with the ordinary battery-powered UPS.

Well, it’s not really cannibalism. Psycho elf and lowly humans are not in the same league.
Also, the portal cargo space, is there a downside to it?
You’re both delicious, so nyeh. owo
And aside from the complexities of crafting it…
I kinda get the feeling that there should at least be some downside to it, otherwise it’s just as game breaking as that invisibility ring I got. Like it costs a lot of battery power to open up, or something, or it attracts nether creatures.

All you need to do is activate the UPS, I think. In any case, there’s no need to reload the pistol. Just fire away.
The laser pistols and rifle don’t have an ammo supply, thus you can’t reload them. As long as you have at least one charged UPS in your inventory it’ll draw charges/ammunition from it, so you can just take aim and fire.
Guys,
so i’ve seen that every mutation path has its own serum, but i can’t find the alpha path serum, which one is that? I have found beast, feline, fish etc., but no alpha.
How do i reliably go the alpha route?
You can find the Alpha recipe book in the lab.
And I think it is also called alpha. So no strange name.

Labs are the only place to find mutagen recipes AFAIK, including alpha. If the lack of recipe starts to feel like injustice, then use the debug menu and conjure the recipe document to yourself (whatever the book’s name is). Note that alpha mutagens are notoriously tedious to craft (ingredient hogs), so prepare to debug yourself some ingredients or ready alpha mutagens as well… Also, without the Robust Genetics trait, I wouldn’t mess with mutagens, not even with alphas, at least not without purifiers, and I would only expect 1-2 positive mutations.
Or, of course, the power of savescumming. XP
EDIT: Also, pondering the equipment setup that would also the absolute most storage while keeping all body parts at less than 10 encumbrance.
If we’re considering obvious exploits, just use the debug menu to add the muts.
Savescumming does at least involve effort though, moreso than debugging. o3o
