So, dead again via huge boomer glow. Don’t get me wrong, I love that it’s harder, but those things… man, night-time raids are now much, MUCH more dangerous.
I have a question to those that might know about the development stuff: is it intended that huge boomers, that make you glow, DON’T glow themselves, but corrosive zombies, that don’t make you glow, DO? That seems seriously backwards.
When I’m reading next to a computer, even though my light level is “Brightly”, I’m getting a message about how it’s hard to see fine details and my reading is slower. What’s up with that?
Just discovered a really cool tip for melee fighting hulks
Fight them near bodies of water (pools, rivers, etc.)
When you get launched by a hulk, only a very small amount of damage comes from the actual punch. The overwhelming majority of the damage and pain occurs when you actually hit the ground. But when you get launched into a body of water, all you have to do is climb back out and continue fighting
My character got launched into a river while fighting a hulk, and exited the river to continue fighting with only 3 pain, minor torso damage, and no damaged clothing.
EDIT: Be careful not to drown in the process. This almost happened while I was fighting a second hulk.
Same issue I’ve noticed recently. Check whether your eyes have any encumbrance. I’ve yet to determine whether it’s an ENC issue or a lighting change.[/quote]
Not because of encumberance! Because sunglasses are dark. Or are they? My pet peeves since day one I laid my fingers on CDDA have been that sunglasses didn’t lower perceived lighting level and that welding goggles couldn’t be used to counter sleeping in bright daylight. Blindfold helps with that though, so… My hope would be that if indeed eyewear modifies the lighting level, it would be reported to the player.
Yus. But thing is, it would be interesting if eye encumbrance affected apparent lighting levels. Then simply giving sunglasses a little encumbrance would work.
Though that would make gas masks inexplicably darken your vision, so maybe adding a separate “reduces vision range” flag would be better.
Hell, a walking cane plus fencing can take on, and even one-shot zombies, with ease. Plus it can automatically counter attacks even when you’re busy crafting.

Aye fencing is a nice support style later on in the game and you can learn it from a book unlike most other MA’s.
not so sure about spending 3 points to get it tho.
I’ve never even picked one of them up, assumed they’re clutter
Never even played much with ‘throwing’ as means of dealing direct damage, thought it’s mainly good for throwing granades :F
yea yea, people like me exist… even on the forums

Yeah. Better to find them in books than spend points on it.
