Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

Ah right, is a bit safer, though dependent on your vehicle being large enough to support that much separation.

The same applies to wheels too, you can move them inward to leave them less exposed.

Also unrelated, pondering the story and gameplay niche of the Bionic Monster class. :V

Also, as it turns out, a friendly machine will turn into a friendly blob when they step on a goo pit. Kinda neat.

Tested it out by spawning a tank drone and hacking them and making it step on a goo pit.

Ooh, cool. A friendly tank drone is way more useful though. owo

Well, yeah. But science! Was wondering how big a blob would be if I got a tank drone for it. Not very big.

And I just realized that I didn’t have to go through all the trouble to take care of a tank drone that was loitering in the road. I waited until night, and did several hit and runs with it via a rifle… when all I should have done was hack it.

Now I wonder what’d happen if you tried to get a shoggoth into a goo pit…

They turn into blobs, without fail. I’ve done that so many times already and it’s pretty much the most cost effective ways to silence those shoggoths in labs. All you need to do is have a light source so they can quickly follow you.

And the same can be done with bio-operators. A bit of a waste since they carry good stuff and possible CBMs, but it’s a safe way to dispose of them on the starting lab on the lab challenge.

Not even a large blob? Just a blobby blob? Such fail. ;w;

And yeesh, I prefer fisting the bio-ops to death as soon as feasible.

Just a blobby blob. The jump in danger level is hilarious.

Tekeli-li. ;w;

EDIT: Also, how much armor do the alloy plating CBMs give? The carbon fiber thing tells you its armor value, but not the plating bionics.

Says on the wiki 3 to both bash and cut.

Oh derp. @_@

EDIT: Hmm. If I added a profession that had ALL the defective bionics installed, any suggestions for how many negative points that should be worth?

One?

Minus 1 point for 18 faulty bionics? >_>

A character with all faulty bionics would require fast healer trait. Otherwise acid discharge+leaky bionic would inevitably kill you, unless you lucked out and managed to remove one of those early on.
Leaky bionic kills regeneration, while acidic discharge deals light damage once in a while. To a healthy character this damage is very annoying (interrupts sleep) but nearly harmless otherwise, but a character with no healing ability would quickly die from it.

Ah, this is enlightening, yay.

What cost would you suggest if the profession had, say, all faulty bionics, no useful ones, and no skills? o3o

That sort of thing sounds more like a challenge scenario like really bad day instead of a mere profession, in any case. So probably at least as much as really bad day.

One could feasibly tack on a few positive bionics to bring the cost down though. For example.

Moar mucking about with the properties, so unsure of the logical point cost for this.

So, after a literal dozen labs, I finally found one that /wasn’t/ just another CBM lab finale. And it was the Resonance Cascade one, which is mightily tempting to activate - simply because going out in a blaze of nightmares as an endless cavalcade of subprime monsters oozes out of the portal appeals to me.

But, er, does it do that?

Nope. It’s not implemented properly yet and doesn’t do a lot.

The RM20 is a closer calibre match, and can be loaded with explosive rounds.
