Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

I think I’m just going to take a break for a while. Everything else in the game spawns dynamically, and I turned static off specifically because I didn’t want to kill everything and then spend a month playing “Trash Picking In Perfect Safety Simulator”.

IS there a way to do this?

The Zombie population is pretty static though.
You may get more zombie animals but pretty much all people are already dead or zombified (over 90%) so there will logicaly not be another noticeable rise in number. The only thing this dynamic spawn might be able to simulate is zombie migration… and i think the horde mechanic will perform this much better once it has been perfected.

Ah, thanks, that was very helpful.

And it told me that I’ll just stick with Ninjitsu - the In-One attack is nice (full damage in half time), but that’s really the only one… and the Ninjitsu special is double damage in normal time, plus silent. So yeah, it seems nice, but only if you don’t have Ninjitsu.

I should look into Niten and see if it’s as deliciously powerful as Krav Maga. It’s really hard to beat spamming Quick Strike with a punch dagger, to me at least. =w=

Keep in mind that niten gives you a passive that increases your damage and dodge the more perception you have, which is huge. It outdps’d ninjutsu on my character with just 8 perception, and it would be far more devastating with alpha mutation and diamond corneas for 17 perception. Ninjutsu is quieter, works with more weapons, can be chosen at char gen and is much more likely to stunlock the enemy, so I guess it may be a draw.

So, I noticed that my name, gender, and profession no longer seem to display now.

Showing as “$s” now for some reason, and I just now noticed that.

But Niten can be obtained in-game without spending points, which I don’t think Ninjutsu can.

If you haven t. You should post that in a bug report.
I know i noticed that too and ahve been to lazy to report it … but as you posted it already you could as well :3

Maximum derp. Also:

[6:13:21 PM | Edited 6:13:29 PM] Chaosvolt: (( Damn, 17 strength isn’t enough to batter down steel doors bare-handed. ))
[6:14:28 PM] Kallin Argentclaw: (( 17 strength can’t melt steel beams. ))

EDIT: Someone already has. http://smf.cataclysmdda.com/index.php?topic=10259.0

How do laser sights work now? Are they an alternative to conventional optics or what?

I have only ever found UPS CBM’s in two places- either in military bunkers, or off the corpses of dead zombie bio-operators. Even then, I’m on year 3 1/2 and I’ve only found one, so good luck :)[/quote]

They can also be found in shocker brutes.

Or in science labs

Yes, it can. Also a book with the title being a dead giveaway.

Essence of Ninjutsu. In the mil_books itemgroup.

Is it possible to get mutations and CBMs or are they exclusive? I ask because when you install an implant it warns of possible mutation reversal

You can have both.

They can be used together. It’s just that gaining or losing mutations are both potential side effects of failing a CBM installation.

In contrast, mutations don’t seem to interfere with bionics, but some mutations may either compliment some bionics, or render them redundant.

So I’m gonna make a set of solar panels to act as a generator for my base. Will they still work if I surround them with walls for protection? Like just a series of stone walls so they won’t get damaged, but no roof?

Should be fine, yeah. Natural light level might be the actual factor, but I’m not sure. Either way keeping it safely walled in an outdoor area will cover either possibility.

“floor” tiles are inside, and if the ceiling isn’t properly supported, it collapses… and the floor becomes “dirt”. It’s a little weird, but it seems a decent way to represent it without having to wonder if I’m inside or not… especially if it was a little more obvious, somewhere, as to how that worked…

Building walls doesn’t change the floor - you have to make ceiling to do that.

As far as I know, being next to a wall doesn’t change the light level any (haven’t checked thoroughly, though).
