Could test to see whether moving his corpse counts. o3o
Well, I tried going there with the cooked creep he turned into. Didn’t work.
Got another mission from a different NPC. When I finished that, the previous mission was still there, but the red asterisk on the map isn’t showing up anymore, so there’s that, at the very least.
I guess it counts if you eat him and go to the destinaton. o3o
heh, not really, no… I’d like a more general answer to the mall question, not JUST in relation to the UPS CBM.
How bloody hard does it need to be to make a UPS CBM? Seriously, UPS + buntout bionic = UPS CBM. It’s simpler than alloy plating, among myriad other examples.
Good point.
…fuck me, I didn’t know that. D:
Does it work for gasoline-powered vehicles idling at full power as well?
sure. just note that the charging vehicle charges itself first then the second one - so in my case my motorcycle charges only if my APC is at 100% charge
another option is to simply switch batteries between the two cars when empty/full
Do I even want to know why every mobile meth lab seems to have a porkpie hat in the driver’s seat.
Breaking Bad reference. Porkpie hat is the style of hat that Heisenberg wears.
Ah right, doh. >w>
Yes, but it’s a little involved, and you can’t take anything but you and your inventory with you (so no deathmobiles, at least not with a rather significant amount of work on top of this).
Steps:
[ol][li]Move to the surface. You have no idea what the new world will have in your new location, and getting entombed in solid rock is a stupid way to die.[/li]
[li]Pick up everything you want to take with you.[/li]
[li]Save and quit.[/li]
[li]Open up your save folder and find the 5 or so files with names that start like this: “#QmVuamFtaW4gUmVwbG9nbGU”.[/li]
[li]Copy those files over into the same spots on the new world’s save folder.[/li]
[li]If you want to take any artifacts over you will need to copy over artifacts.gsav as well (note: this can and will rewrite previous artifacts in the world as well).[/li]
[li]Restart C:DDA and open up your save in the new world.[/li]
[li]Assuming everything went right, you should be done.[/li][/ol]
Of course if your goal is to just move from one version to the next you can just copy over the entire world folder instead of just the character (compress it first though, it reduces down to about 1/8th of it’s normal size).
Thank You! That’s really nicely written and detailed.
I have another question - does the book of five rings spawn only in book filled mansions, or can it appear anywhere where a normal book does?
There is no such thing as the normal book in Cataclysm!
I would assume “spawns in a library” is as close to normal as it gets.
EDIT: Can be found in dojos it seems, rarely. And of course mansions. I’ll keep looking through the mapgen files to see where else it shows up.
How rare is it? The book mansions have a lot of rooms with books so it seems that it shouldn’t be that rare to find one? I’m contemplating dropping ninjutsu on my next character and looking for that book.
How much of strength and/or bash damage does one need to smash through different walls?
I know 30 str and a sledgehammer will let you smash through the average wall of a building in town even if it takes a few whacks. Gotta love those hydraulic muscles.
Also, I have a question for the thread: I have the boats mod in place and I’d like to make a semi-amphibious deathmobile at some point. I figure I’ll just store some boat boards aboard the vehicle, and when I come up to a river, pull into the shallow water and swap them with the wheels. Then I just sail around with the wheels stowed aboard.
Any reason this won’t work? I’ve never messed with boat boards yet. What else do I need? Like… a paddle or rudder or anything?
I think 10 str and sledgehammer is enough for ordinary walls, 30 is overkill.
14 strength will let you use a battleaxe for the same results. owo
As for rarity, niten manual is at the minimum item weight of 1 for dojos, and…2 I think for mansions.
I’ve got that book on my current character, and a katana… and ninjitsu, actually, so I haven’t tried out that style. What does it do? The description tells you the names of the things it does but not what they DO.
https://github.com/CleverRaven/Cataclysm-DDA/blob/master/data/json/techniques.json and scroll to the end, there you have the description of niten techniques. It’s on par or stronger than ninjutsu.
A decent strength character (12 or so) can one-shot zombies even with a quarterstaff on niten, though it lacks the quiet-ness of ninjitsu.
Man I’ve got dynamic spawn on, hordes on, spawn set to 2, and city size set to 6 and there are almost no zombies in this giant-ass city. This is a complete snore. I’ve started debugging myself all the mundane fiddly bits needed for my vehicle under construction because the idea of wandering this silent empty boring city for days rummaging for garbage makes me sick.
Dynamic spawn ignores the density settings (you can test it by setting the density to 50). It is outdated and unsupported.
