Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

Ho hum, guess I’ll camp out in this fire station. Maybe I should thin out the locals if I’m going to be hanging around here. I’ll just turn on this car alarm outside, go to sleep, and the next morning I’ll roar out there in the deathwagon guns blazing and clean up the neighborhood all at once.

the next morning

Think I’ll do some crafting before the big turkey shoot. Doot doot doot, crafting away.

WALL EXPLODES INWARD, HALF THE FIRE STATION COLLAPSES, ARMY OF ZOMBIES WADES IN

How the hell did they do that? This has never happened before.
How do i make gold/bismuth/lead/similars? I see they are required to reload ammunition, but can’t find any recipe to make them. I also tried mining with a jackhammer and stuff, i only got stones and limestone, both seem pretty useless in the endgame. Do I have to learn more skills or find another book? Or dissassemble some items?
I already searched 7-8 gun stores (with alarms, reinforced windows and all that annoying stuff) but couldn’t find any. Most of all, didn’t find the ‘‘workshop room’’ with the shells and tools and primers and the goddamn gunsmith repairing kit

And what about sulphur? Is it mineable too?
Disassemble jewelry. Gold watches, silver thing, etc. Hit bank safes. Need sledge hammer or jackhammer if you don’t have a stethoscope. Get good head/chest/armor protection(don’t care about emb, you just don’t want to get crushed in a roof collapse) and a shovel to clear rubble for when the roof falls on you.

I’ve used a stethoscope on as many banks as I’ve hit with a jackhammer and the loot seems to be very similar. Maybe mutagens are destroyed but you’ll get the bionics, gold, silver, power armor etc still.

Zeds can pile up and combo-push on a wall. Essentially your car alarm summoned a bone & flesh battering ram.

Nice! Almost shit my pants!

Question about the reality bubble thing, I think.

So I downloaded map data on a lab, checking on the map, I notice some fungal flowers have been released. Don’t think I’ve been to that area before - like I haven’t seen any fungaloids yet or anything. Can I nuke it via silo to ensure I don’t see any fungal problems around that place?

In fact, is the risk of getting irridated in that area much better than risking getting fungal infestation on the nearby environment? Got the radiation scrubber bionic thing, too.

Unfortunately, last I checked nukes don’t actually kill anything. They might isolate the flowers, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Can negative morale kill a player?

Fungal infestation isn’t like diseases. You can avoid it by not getting near the fungi. You can also clean it with blood filter CBM.

No. It can only debuff you and drop your focus to 1.

That’s a relief.
Was getting kinda worried how long I can keep on killing off zombie children at the school 'til my character gets enough depressed and takes a shot from his sixshooter.

Alcohol addiction gives you up to -120 morale. Dead children ain’t got nothing on that.
Cannibalism can be even worse and reach -300. Murder (of an innocent NPC) is “only” -100, but it lasts a week.

Plus, the more zed children you kill, the less effect it has. I think it drops to 0 at 100 kills.

Smashing is as good as butchering, right? Found some zombie bio-operator corpses, and butchering them right now might not draw out some handy bionics. On the other hand, finding four of them alive won’t be a happy moment…

butchering tends to give better drops if I am not mistaken. It also raises survival skill, but I think it takes longer (depending on butchering quality of tool being used)

yeah but butchering is performed so fast that i only consider smashing when i do not have a knife on me.

better? does smashing give drops?

edit:

smashing spitter z results in !fun!

I wouldn’t be surprised if the answer to that is no.

I can still probably butcher them after smashing them up, but since this is a new character I probably won’t get a bionic now. If I wait, I’ll have to fight four bio-operators… so that’s not gonna happen. To be specific, will smashing them completely prevent them from coming back to life, like butchering them?

Yes they ll not rise if you finish smashing them.

Good to know. My player’s day is already ruined by sleeping in a half thrashed room filled with dead bods. It’ll be bad if he wakes up with them standing by the bed.

XD that would be the funniest thing. Hey, buddy you didn’t smash us, so we are going to stand here by your bedside until you wake, and then calmly EAT YOU BRAINZ!

No you wake up dead. Somethings wrong with that.

Does smashing them prevent necromancers from raising them, or does only butchering do that?

Also, what’s with all the military crash sites? I’ve found like 12 of them, and it’s nice because I get nice things when I clean them up sometimes, but I’ve found 4 or 5 blaster arm CBMs… anything to do with them? You can only use one (and I don’t want to use it)…

Also, is there anything to do with the black boxes yet? Don’t tell me what it is, necessarily, I just want to know if there’s a point to them yet.
