Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

Sorry if this question was already asked somewhere earlier, but I wonder what tool is used while butchering if multiple butcher-able tools are available? The one with the best butchering ability?

Yes the question has been asked somewhere . The answere i heard from a dev would be:

The game chooses the tool with the highest value.

How does siphoning work?

Rubber hose* into the gas tank and your character kinda, well, he sucks it until they taste gas and the put the hose into the container.

*You can get those from smashing refridgerators

I have a rubber hose, my question is how big a container I’d need for a 60% full tank?

a gas tank holdes 220 units of water.

60%? 132~ times 0.25 liters volume. ~

Two small metal tanks or one metal tank.

Did I miss something in o.C’s changelog since all my melee attacks cost 2 - 3 times more time?

May be your weapon getting stuck.
Nail knuckles, machetes and axes get stuck fairly easily.

Could someone explain benefits of improvised shelter to me? I builded it in one of my previous games but didn get if it changed anything.

Kinda like a tent but buildable from scratch. When inside you ought to be warmer and protected from rain. If not, let us know: bug!

Found a metal polishing tool in C, have no clue what to do with it?
Hello, I want to build a fireplace in the refugee center (the large one with utility lights) and I want to know how far away from the locks can it be so I am still in the crafting range. Also, what is behind the locked iron doors and how can I open them?

thanks
Fairly certain that acetylne torches can be used to open locked metal doors. labs, military bases, Silo’s, etc. just remember that a strong locked metal door is usually only the first line of defense. if you cut or blast your way in, be prepared to deal with bots or turrets. not always, but I cant remember which ones do and which don’t

Does the deputy badge do anything? would think that they would give you the same effect as the ‘police’ profession trait

The professional traits actually do things?

according to another thread I just read. MD helps with CBM installs and I assume First aid, Police prevents eyebots from calling down bots on you, Skater helps you not fall down/trip while wearing skates, etc.

Think that the deputy badge should have the same effect as ‘police’ and I think that the various ‘soldier’ professions should have a ‘soldier’ trait which prevents turrets from firing at you unless you attack them first.

also think you should be able to ‘l/earn’ the skater trait with enough time spent wearing skates. like wear them for 30 days and you get the skater trait.

EDIT: just saw that there is ‘Martial arts’, ‘Bionic Officer’, ‘BlackBelt’, et. what about those, what do they do, if anything?

ERROR: subject biometric mismatch, possible officer-impersonation, dispatching bots, requesting human intervention on-scene

The badges contain biometric identifiers matching folks with the authority to wear them. Bots use that to confirm your legitimacy, so if you are a cop, keep and wear your badge to ID yourself to eyebots (which were not reprogrammed, as they have no offensive capabilities). Otherwise, they’re currently useless, but I imagine using 'em to convince humans isn’t that far off.

Soldiers, well, you read the lore same as everyone else, unlikely. Skater represents closer to months or years of skating pre-Cataclysm, not just 30 days.

All 3 types of bots I’ve encountered are just component fests. I wear the badge just to get more of them early on. Need more super alloy. go get your picture taken!

I think it would be awesome to make an RF interceptor/imitator combined with the RC control to hack in and take control of them (high comp skill).

How can I obtain a gunsmith repair kit? Can it be found anywhere? I have already searched 6 gun stores and 3 police station (I’m playing 0.C), but it didn’t help. Is it craftable in any way? If yes, is the recipe in a book or do I have to just level up a skill?
