Don’t you get a message about that though?
Randomly, in an effort to not spam the player, so bad rolls might stop you from getting it. If you’d like, debug a few hundred of whatever you’re firing and a spare weapon, fire it all off, and let us know.

Ah, now that makes sense.
(it is weird that a USP 9mm is too crappy to learn anything from, but a nailgun is good enough)

Thanks for helpful reply! However, I’m pretty sure you can move battery power from one vehicle to another using some item(s). I’ve read about it, but I couldn’t get it to work, now I don’t even remember what were the items needed for this.

@Litppunk
Well…I want to destroy a wall in my base to put “fake” car and solar panels outside to have working refrigerator and lights at night :)
So destroying walls is actually bad. Depending if you have hordes on or not. Human’s do have a ‘scent’ where boarding up the house actually blocks it.

Also if the vehicle is destroyed the Zeds will walk right in, and NPC’s may also.

A Better solution is to probably destroy the floor in a corner or location, that will remove the roof, (floor/roof are tied together for construction), and yes it will rain there, but it will also be ‘outside’ so you can get sunlight in those tiles.

huh that is interesting… could you then run a jumper cable or something through the open corner so you could run power throughout your base?

Where on earth do I find the access code to reactivate the elevators in hazard waste sarcophagi? There’s no option to hack the console so I would imagine I need to find the code…somewhere.

npc quest

you can get it from npc quest, one of last missions in questline of npc what will want american flag (he want you to hack melhior and cerpypt blackbox too) quest is bugged and cant be finished

elevator can do not work too (downstairs blocked, fall damage when returning surface) so get high construction skill and dig down but first prepare anbc suit while you need a lot of construction skill to get here loot is realy nice (mutagen, weed, galon durms and other stuff) with low risk because anbc suit is good enought to defend you from some zombies what are down there and give radiation immunity

Swamp pools contain ONLY salt water, or also normal water can be found?

theres pools with water and salt water in swamps.
check them all and your bound to find both.

Ok thank you, by looking more carefully I found some water.

Another question: I’m building a log wall cabin, I want to replace a section of the wall with a window, but I can’t seem to be able to destroy that section. Everything I use to attack the log wall doesn’t damage it. Is there a way to do what I want without setting fire to the whole thing in a sort of frustration twitchy, and very random, molotov attack???

run a car into the wall or use a sledge hammer or other hy blunt dmg weapon.

pickaxe should work too

Log wall has a huge damage resistance: 60 str_min. This means that your strength + weapon bash damage needs to be at least 60 to scratch it. You probably won’t get that much without a sledgehammer + hydraulic muscles.

You could get a hulk to bash it down for you, use the magnet CBM to smash it with an anvil, ram it with a vehicle with a small ram on it or use a pickaxe.

Wow. I had this feeling that the log wall would be stronger than the wood wall, but I didn’t think so much xD Thank you for the answers, I’ll try to find a pickaxe or a sledgehammer.

Hello, I want to build a fireplace in the refugee center (the large one with utility lights) and I want to know how far away from the locks can it be so I am still in the crafting range. Also, what is behind the locked iron doors and how can I open them?

thanks

picklocks are choice against most locked doors, (crowbars too against wooden) don’t know about refugee centers. I think the limit is 2 spaces away to cook but don’t quote me… and 3 for crafting with the light? 4?

I think it’s 6 tiles, but you can easily test by dropping an item (say, a two-by-four), walking few steps away and checking if you can craft something that requires it.

I know using materials is far (thought it was a LITTLE shorter than 6) But can you craft with fire at that same range?

Yes, the pickup range is the same for all kinds of crafting. Fire is implemented as a fake tool.
If you can’t craft with fire closer than 7 tiles, it’s probably due to lack of light or something blocking your way.

ah good to know. That’ll make cooking in the lab even easier in the future. Thanks
