Tried that too, no dice.
No, I already have access to the bunker. I’m underground.
Tried to use an electrohack on a store-room card reader and fried it.
I’m sure explosives would work, but there is really no way to fix it? o0
A line of flammables leading to some ammo next to it will blow an entrance as well as any other explosive, but AFAIK there is unfortunately no way to fix a broken card reader or console.
Does the world have an edge?
Only so far as your computer has the storage for all the map you’ve revealed. No Ocean or other limiting factor.
It’s possible that Whales made a hardcoded “limit” to how many map-sections (not map tiles) there can be. It’s more likely, though, that it just relies on your storage space. Cataclysm doesn’t render things even in the map menu when you’re far enough away.
What? No wonder. I’ve been looking for the seaside as soon as I found this little gem of a game.
Wouldn’t an ocean or lake be fun though?
Giant Zombie Carp.
Undead Jellyfish colonies.
Amphibious Zombie whales.
Dockyards, wharfs, shipyards… Desalinazation plants, Sewage treatment… Toxic waste dumps… Sewage outlets…
And… Boats!
Tankers, Yachts, fishing trawlers, speedboats etc.
Yeah, now that I think about it boats would be fun for about five minutes before we run into a pod of mutant zombie whales.
Honestly though I am suprised, since one of the best ways to survive such a catastrophe would be to get aboard a boat and sit to anchor off the shore for a few weeks until everything is dead. Or walks into the ocean and climbs up your anchor chain, but that’s another matter.
Edit: Also… Fishing! how the hell could I forget fishing. We could cast a line and catch (or not) a fish. For specialized boats like trawlers we could use their onboard equipment to cast giant nets… And drag in said undead fauna.
Hi, I’m new to this game and I was wondering what conditions do I need to meet to build a log wall.
I have all the items no sweat but it always tells me I can’t build it there, do I need to be out of the forest or in a very large clearing? Is it one of those buildings you can only build on floors?
Question about vehicles building : does the shape of frames have any role or is it just aesthetic?

Hey Welp, welcome. As I remember it in the current version you need to dig a deep pit. Grab a shovel and dig the same square out twice, then it should allow you to build it. Shovels can be quite hard to come across, so just make a stone shovel. A broom, some string and a rock should do the trick.
Thanks! I was lucky enough to get a LOT of thread so I had no problems making stone versions of the construction items.
my total health has decreased permantly dunno why. any way to fix it?

Reefs with rubble nearby? Massive schools of fish available for no apparent reason? …Deep Ones?

NO! Just NO!
Where there are deep ones, lobstermen are soon to follow, and not even fire hurts them.
Never try to hack a police computer. (bypass security.) You know what might happen? Manhack robots drop down from the celing ripping you apart.
This is more a cataclysm item modding question, but do I have to edit any files other than the respective weapon’s type json and the recipe json if I want to add in a craftable weapon?

I was thinking Lovecraft, not Terror From The Deep. [Lobstermen aren’t in core CoC or The Shadow over Innsmouth, at least.] Agreed that TFTD critters would be an endgame threat at minimum. (Now, if J-Hammers were more common, that might be a different story. Bonus if the Military Bunkers had the ones with butter & cracker storage. )
Never try to drop manhacks on a melee-monster (7-8 each in Dodge, Melee, and your choice of melee skill). You know what might happen? He punches out the manhacks and goes right back to hacking the police/lab/whatever computer.
Back in 02Feb 3-4 Computer was all you needed to reliably crack a police terminal. The CompSci textbook went to 6, and at that level you could usually get through most Lab computers. Did the devs jack up Computer difficulty without mentioning the fact?
Just aesthetic.
Are there any zombies or monsters in the sewage systems? I hacked into a computer and now I have access to basically most of it and I’m considering using it to get around if I can.
Also do vehicles run out of gas?
