What? No wonder. I’ve been looking for the seaside as soon as I found this little gem of a game.
Wouldn’t an ocean or lake be fun though?
Giant Zombie Carp.
Undead Jellyfish colonies.
Amphibious Zombie whales.
Dockyards, wharfs, shipyards… Desalinazation plants, Sewage treatment… Toxic waste dumps… Sewage outlets…
And… Boats!
Tankers, Yachts, fishing trawlers, speedboats etc.
Yeah, now that I think about it boats would be fun for about five minutes before we run into a pod of mutant zombie whales.
Honestly though I am suprised, since one of the best ways to survive such a catastrophe would be to get aboard a boat and sit to anchor off the shore for a few weeks until everything is dead. Or walks into the ocean and climbs up your anchor chain, but that’s another matter.
Edit: Also… Fishing! how the hell could I forget fishing. We could cast a line and catch (or not) a fish. For specialized boats like trawlers we could use their onboard equipment to cast giant nets… And drag in said undead fauna.
Reefs with rubble nearby? Massive schools of fish available for no apparent reason? …Deep Ones?
NO! Just NO!
Where there are deep ones, lobstermen are soon to follow, and not even fire hurts them.
I was thinking Lovecraft, not Terror From The Deep. [Lobstermen aren’t in core CoC or The Shadow over Innsmouth, at least.] Agreed that TFTD critters would be an endgame threat at minimum. (Now, if J-Hammers were more common, that might be a different story. Bonus if the Military Bunkers had the ones with butter & cracker storage.
