I meant in real life, why do nail guns have a burst setting? Just cant see that being helpful, but to each their own I guess.
Is there a way to befriend them and have them come with me places? I found this one dog that just helped me take down a Shrieker before it attracted too many other zombies. I want to take him home with me, but I don’t know if it’s possible.
I’ve marked the location on the map that he is in, and I want to be able to come back and retrieve him later
Make some dog food and apply it to the dog. Also try looking for a dog whistle, they might be in pawn shops.
I’m an intermediate player, however, I’d like to know what taping up windows does? I established a base on the outskirts of town, and is relatively safe except for some pain in the ass blobs. Any way I can easily take them out without nearly getting killed? I don’t live near a slime pit so it shouldn’t be a problem, and I use static spawn so when I’m powerful enough, I should be able to clear out this town of monsters that are closer to the city center.
It’s basically just pulling the curtains on the window. It offers no advantage in scent seal, nor make the window any sturdier. It’s good for windows that don’t have curtains like stores and garages.

Is it possible to have more zombies spawn with the “Classic zombies only” option?
I don’t enjoy the Left 4 Dead feel of all the mutated zombies. I wouldn’t mind them, if there were one or two per horde, but much prefer classic zombies.
But there’s just not enough of them. Runing around with my Crossbow i can slaughter every one last of them without ever being wounded, and it would be cool to have twice as many zombies if there are only classic ones.
At night raiding a military outpost. I could see the outline of turrets in a part of it, but no door was connected to it. I blew the wall up with my M72- LAW and looted the place. Seems like they have a great purpose in the game now. I’ve personally stock piled 5 of them and counting.
How do I lighting?
I know there are flashlights, but are there any things that I can use to light, say, an LMOE shelter without sucking up my batteries and non-renewable light sources?
I demand renewable lighting!
You can always build a “vehicle” in your shelter. But you need a seat and controls on a frame to be able to turn the headlights on.
Not a terrible idea, really. I’ll make that my renovation goal for the time being.
Can someone tell me exactly what this CMB does: Ethanol Burner.
Also how do I check what CMB’s I have installed?
“p” for the CBM. My guess would be ethanol burner allow you to turn booze into power for your other CBMs.
Ok thanks
Ugh I hate to be a bother but, do I just drink the alcohol for the Ethanol Burner to work?

How the hell do I do that exactly?
Yes.
I am having so much trouble finding things like pots and first aid kits ;~;. Any tips? Pharmacies aren’t an option, I have far too much trouble getting around the zeds and nearly die every time I set foot near the city.
I also need help with navigating cities to get supplies.
FYI: Booze consumed for the Ethanol Burner retains all the effects it normally has. Applying a Blood Filter will remove the various Drunk debuffs, but not the morale/painkiller effect or the addiction rating. Be careful!
ETA: Improvised Flamethrower comes in at Mechanics 6 or so. If you manage to find the milspec version, grab it!
(edited to answer flamethrower-manufacture question-KA101.)
If I’m not wrong you can craft stone pots at survival skill 2 or 3. Rags might do in a pinch to stem bleeding if you don’t have first aid kits.
Try moving around the outskirts if you’re on static spawn, till you get sufficient storage and weapons. I usually only make a foray into the city center when I have a decent hulkbuster (something like a .45 pistol) and a longbow/nailbat.
When you die does your characters corpse remain where you died? I’ve been searching for it for quite a while but can’t find it anywhere where I died because of an infected dog bite! ;/
Never mind! It wasn’t showing any items on top of a bed that I apparently found while vomiting and trying to numb the pain with lots of whisky.
