Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

No the radiation is from my mutations.

Check…

Nothing unless they made marloss berries radioactive.

I have the radioactivity mutation, so I am constantly getting more radioactive.

while I was sleeping I developed minor and then normal radioactivity

If you have radioactivity as a trait, your body is itself generating rads, and irradiating the ground you walk/sleep/etc on. Iodine won’t help. You need Purifier: lose the traits! Marloss stuff can randomly zero your rad count, but the traits will just bring it back up to base.

Yes I know, I was asking if I urgently need purifier was raiding a lab the best way to find it?

Pretty much the only way. Good luck.

Opened a door and got instakilled by a turret. RIP
Thanks for answering questions, will not try keeping genetically unstable again.

Or you could have tried to get some mutagen, or try survive long enough to mutate radiogenic.
Then you’d basicly be immortal.

I realize most people here are talking about the experitmentals and etc, but for those of us that are still playing 0.A I have a stupid/puzzling question.

What do people usually wear that’s warm enough to survive a Lab-dive, tough enough for said Lab-dives; yet doesn’t encumber you to the moon and back even when you’re stripped down?

Long story short I’ve been forced to turn the surface level of a Lab into my base of operations, yet even just inside the front door at 25F I’m chilly; and since the first underground is -5F there’s no way in hell I’ll be able to survive without encumbering myself to the point of not being able to hit jackshit without stripping for every fight…

keep encunber under 6 and grind your mele to be more than 6 and wear some things what will give you at least 85 warm armor is not a problem in stable you have only few zombies, cyborgs and maybe at some endings you will meet something stronger alslo prepare something to deal with turrets (emp grenades, crossbow with stell bolts, bow with metal arrows or firearm)

You really need to ditch the armor and be running all fur gear with a high powered rifle, you will need to be able to fight the robots at the end anyway and guns are better to use with high torso enc. Climate control CBM is also pretty much a must if they go more than a few floors deep. From there you need to go up and down mapping out your route, mark all up and down stairs on the map, etc. Frostbite is ok if you get out of the cold soonish, so you can make the bolt for the finale once you are down a bit. Pretty much nothing will stop you from getting frostbite on the deeper ones that go down to -100 C or worse, so you just want to get as deep as you can and move fast, no crafting or butchering corpses you dont have to, etc.
It also helps to go down in summer, outside temps do change the inside temps as well.

Generally though, ice labs are more of a challenge thing than an essential, the loot is all the same as a normal lab and there are generally plenty of them about if you have a car.

Can you have negative melee skill? Specifically, if you have a million torso encumbrance, and have no melee skill anyway, would that cause you to be a worse fighter than if you were naked?

Since my ‘me’ character never has any melee skill to start with, I was wondering if walking into battle with no torso encumbrance was hurting me…

how to kill blobs now? i managed to escape some but 1 is still near me and i want to kill him

fight look like this:

Your muscles hiss as hydraulic strength fills them! HISISSS! You surprise attack the blob for 236 damage. Critical! Your muscles hiss as hydraulic strength fills them! HISISSS! You surprise attack the blob for 243 damage. Critical! You shock the blob.

but blob is:

blob Fleeing! It is uninjured

I’d think either it caps at 0, or yes.

Try shooting them. It stands for a reason that blobs would shrug off bash damage - try hitting a large chunk of jell-o.

The blob thing sounds more like a bug to me, they have done some odd things in some experimental in the last week or so, generally I kill them fine with an aluminium baseball bat though.

me too at slime pit i can kill them with bare hands (even big ones) but some blobs apeared at lab enterance and they cant be killed (i tried lava, guns, katana, unarmed, crowbar, fire, pipebomb, acid, laser, disector) but some things like disector made things worse (great horde instead of few) only telefrag can do something so i carry teleport pads to kill these things

…OH. I just have bad luck and got a lab that is harder than the usual spawn? Okay, that’s far more understandable then. Last two I’d stumbled into had the same effect so I was kinda afraid they were all like this…

Thanks!

Yah, I think the chances of getting an icelab are like 1/4 or something. The others all have normal temps.

What do you use in your fireplaces? I find large sticks have the best burn times and logs for some reason only burn for a short while and turn into a burnt log.
