Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

Is this OK to migrate saves (worlds) between curses and SDL builds?

Never tried. Keep a backup copy, try it out, and let us know!

It should be. Curses vs. SDL is only an interface/display thing, and shouldn’t have any effect at all on the actual save files themselves AFAIK.

Here’s a newb question that I’m almost, almost mind you, embarrassed to ask. Does anyone know how much radiate heat comes off of a stone fireplace?
I’ve recently moved from a doctors office which was way to cramped to a luxurious fire station which I plan to make into a moonshine, meth, marijuana, nodachi factory because reasons. I’m wondering, should I put my stone fireplace in the bedroom part or maybe a far corner out of the way or does it even matter. With the end of summer approaching staying warm is going to be a concern for me I’m sure.
Any help appreciated. Thanks

In what ways can I deploy a M2 browning? also how I can make it in to a turret that is not on a car or truck?

It does matter, but i’m not sure how far a yellow fire radius is (Because fireplaces only go up to a yellow fire). But keep it close to you.

You could shoulder-fire it. smiles

IIRC right now you can only mount it on a car. Which makes it into an automated turret.

IIRC fire actually works right now by directly raising your body temperature rather than radiating heat (which is… weird, to say the least). Because of this you also can’t get things like heating up a room indirectly, you need to be fairly close to the fire for it to have any effect.

Did this. Ended up getting strange warmth changes. Not sure what caused this. Folks who can code will look into issues some time. Maybe. It’s hard to tell what to blame, cause in clean expiremental build from today i got some issues with warmth too. In other areas everything seems normal.

There was a weather rework that might be causing some issues that existed before but you couldn’t really see come to light in the recent versions. That could be what you are experiencing.

Yes, maybe. Anyway, as more ppl gonna play, im sure those issues will get addressed (if they exists).

“Deploy” means that you have to be on (IIRC, personally on the tile) a solid surface such as a counter, window, or even a hay bale in order to fire it. Basically, you’ve gotta have something to brace it on.

hmmm and i’m going to assume that a tripod is not in the game yet, which means that I can’t just deploy it on the ground and fire it from the tripod, in the words of JC Denton “what a shame”.

I think my character is losing it.
NPC’s turned off.
In a museum. Fighting off some regular zeds, boomers, zombie scientist, mi-go etc.
From the south west you hear "How much were those earrings?"
From the west you hear "Are you alone?"
Do mi-go’s or other zeds talk? Also there are some human skulls in the museum. Is that the source of this?

Mi-go’s talk.

puts down Thorazine
Whew that was a close one. It freaked me out for sure.

You should visit some craters. Or hazardous waste sarcophagus  I’m, personally, don’t believe anything in this game, after seeing my mom

Is the V8 the fasted engine out there?

And does having multiple engines make a car faster?

[i]Note:I’m in late game and are looking for things to do,so why not make something impractically fast? Even though I have issues with going at half speed with my single V6.

V12 have the highest top speed, but I think that V8s have the best thrust/weight ratio.

Adding extra engines does make the car faster, until but there comes a point in which your car actually starts moving slower due to the weight of all the extra engines

Where would I find a V12? Right now I’m just looking to install twin engines on a battering ram of death once I find a APC or two.

Is it even possible to make something capable of going straight through buildings?
