Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!
Guys how come when I spawn theres mi-go’s right outside the evac shelter, I thought things did not spawn until 9:30, or does it just count for zombies?

I have everything default and no surround start
In static spawn mode, most things are already there at the very beginning, wildlife being an exception (Other exceptions I’m not sure about).

If you’re in dynamic mode, I can’t help you as I haven’t played that mode in awhile.

Sorry I should have stated I am in dynamic mode, but from your post it seems your saying the mi-go is not classified as a zombie and just spawns right away

three queries, First, I have recently discovered I can smack a shrub around until it turns into searchable underbrush, is there any way to do this /faster/?

Second, I have constructed some Palisade walls and a palisade gate to further fortify my current location(mostly to keep from being interrupted when crafting in my car by stupid zombie dogs and zombears, how durable are these walls, and what kind of precautions would be advisable in terms of further protection?

Third, other than land mines, can cars set off traps?

Hi there.

 1. Your characters’ ability to /s/mash most things is determined by his or her strength and the “bash” quality of the wielded object he or she is using, so wielding a higher-bash damage weapon or object would likely make smashing shrubs faster.

 2. From what I’ve seen Palisade Walls are pretty dang durable, especially if you’re staying relatively quiet and not drawing too much attention to yourself while hiding within them. You may want to dig a couple rows of spiked pits around the walls just in case some z-animals do decide to come knocking, walking through the spiked pits will probably kill them before they can knock down your walls.

 3. Try driving over some and find out! :^) (but seriously, yes, they set off and are affected by most every type of trap).

Yah, the things hanging around corpses are there from day 1, minute 1. If they are right outside the shelter the RNG just rolled a double 6 on you, it happens.

Hulks are about the only thing you should expect to go through walls with any regularity, and you dont see many of them.

Hey guys found some human blood in vials, what can I do with this? will drinking it do anything besides give me HIV?

So from what i can tell, people prefer high armor over low encumbrance. What do you guys think?

I tend to favor high armor and low encumbrance. Survivor trenchcoat over light survivor suit w/ light survivor gloves, boots and survivor hood gives excellent protection with 0 encumbrance everywhere but the head (where it doesn’t matter).
(In my latest game I’m using the No Survivor Gear mod so I have to think about what to wear)

Halloa! You can use human blood for medical mutagen/serum and thats about it. Unless you prefer to roleplay as a VAMPIRE!

I love armour and dont understand encumberance!
YAY!

I wear things that would not put me under 2 encumbrance unless the following conditions apply:

 1. I have level 7 melee and taking over the world has become a menial task for me.

 2. For the purposes of LOOT, I am in a zombie-free city wearing a few duffel bags and stuff.

 3. I am bored of my save file and feel like being an idiot for the lulz.

Just grab a wheelbarrow from the nearest hardware store for 375 storage. Or upgrade it to a Trunk for 650 storage.

shopingcart is good too and its more common and still you can upgrade it to trunk

What parts of cars set off traps? The wiki says wide tires don’t blow up landmines, does this apply to other traps as well, and will they go off if I dodge them with wheels but run over them with other parts of the vehicle?

The wide tires thing is out of date. All tires now trigger traps, though if you manage to avoid hitting them with the tires you should be fine.

what will happen if i teleport in zombie or wall? i will telefrag it like in doom?

I’m not sure if this is possible, but good question, sounds like the time to do some Science!

Sounds like a terrible idea…

You wont gib, not last I checked with the debug thing.

Granted, that was a few versions ago, but even TPing into solid rock dident gib then.

Teleporting into a solid wall will insta kill you.

You can telefrag enemies if you use the teleported and are surrounded with several zeds, but you really need to get lucky.

Question: Does the debug menu teleport work differently?
