How effective would purifier serum be? I have a ton of other serums and are thinking of using a few.

Where can I find the changes-per-version now? It used to be linked in the sidebar from http://en.cataclysmdda.com/ but now that’s just a bare file listing.

Also, where do I find information on the new ‘melee styles’ usable with weapons? The wiki has a good page on the martial arts, but nothing on weapon-using styles.

How effective would purifier serum be? I have a ton of other serums and are thinking of using a few.

It’s pretty effective, but I don’t tend to mutate until I’m making my own mutagens and have a jug of homemade purifier sitting ready.

Is there a viable way to camp out in a tent and not get owned by wildlife spawns? Also, there’s a tonne of Fungaloids and Spores near me but I checked the map and there’s no spawning point for them nearby - how close do you need to be for them to spawn? It means I sort of have to go to the city because everywhere else is covered in spores

I noticed during one of my salvaging runs that one area of the town was absouloutly full of Fungaloids (and in extension,spores.) and there wasn’t a breeding ground or whatever their called nearby.

I saw them like 15 map tiles away once, they are a bitch, and meant to be a bitch.
Best pack up. And for the wild-life make walls and metal doors and hide like a bitch.

fungs are good source of drinks and are good target pratice for mele and if you have pneumatic rifle rifles

better find spire if you are playing in desert like me this will be easy but in normal map it can hide in forest

after finding spire get a 1 military id card and get something what can break reinforced glass (grenade, pickaxe) you will find mininuke and some awesome guns

now prepare a vehicle it can be anything (anything what can go 30 km/h) just slap seat controls and foot crank on shoping cart and its done
this is easier way of eliminating spire

mininuke blast is not too big (but still bigest blast in game)

alslo i heard about makeshift bombs out of casters, light frame and tank of gasoline it have realy big explosion (like mininuke) and create fire just throw explosiwes near tank to make it explode and done i am not sure that this will work but its only way if you have spire near your base because radiation is bad

Placing the tent between normally impassable tiles (trees) can help[sup][citation needed][/sup]

But its always best to find a building to sleep in.

I wonder about that. In my current game I’m a pure melee build, I got some lucky mutations, and I got my melee skill up to 14. I had heard about what a bitch fungal spires are so I was nervous and very conservative about taking my first one on, but I ended up marching in wearing a gas mask, whacked it three times with my broadsword, and it went fungally-tits up. Mind you, I’m also putting hulks down now without breaking a sweat and I got jumped by four zombears and didn’t take a single point of damage transforming them into mulch.

Did they recently extend the distance the spores etc can spawn at? I’ve been playing dda for a pretty long time, the wildlife was always pretty manageable but everywhere I go outside of the city is crawling with fungaloids. Maybe it’s cause I’ve put the spawn rate up? does that affect everything?

No, fungaloids have always been like that. It’s just when the fungaloids were changed slightly it became a lot more noticeable. (Which is really what like 1/2 of the “bad bugs” are, bugs that have always been in the game but just that nobody noticed until we added a new feature that ended up highlighting them.)

The longer you hang around a place, the more spores there will be. It works the same with anthills.

If you are just driving past, there will be a few ants on the road, if you go to sleep in a house near an anthill, there will be 100s of the fuckers running about when you wake up.

The danger of fungus is not fighting the things, that is damn easy 99% of them arent even hostile. Its getting a fungal infection. You can get it from other parts of your body even when wearing a gasmask. I believe environmental protection is what stops it but I might be wrong.

They will spawn a damn long way away from the spire, generally I only go into areas with fungals for a quick loot run only if I have to before I have a blood filter. The addition of the anti fungus juice has made them a bit less serious, but generally, I find fungals in town, means find another damn town. Not like there arent many about.

Tetanus vaccines, etc got pushed back to another PR. I’d argued for needing a trait (“Antivaxxer”?) to increase vulnerability to those sorts of things, but wev.

Huh. Should have a minimum of 4 unless either you don’t have that many, or you’ve got a LOT of the purifier-proof ones. PM me the save if you’ve still got it.

I don’t have the save,I’m not really bothered about things going bad with the serums,that save was going downhill anyway.

Where I have the highest chance of finding weapon mods? Or rather, can I craft anything other than the silencer and the bayonet? I’m mostly interested in rechambering for higher caliber…

No chance of crafting conversion kits as of yet, if you’re looking for weapon mods and you’re on the experimentals, try finding a gunsmiths, they’re marked as gun shops on the map, but they don’t have a shooting range, instead they’ve got a LOT of weapon mods and ammo around the back.

Other than that, your best bet is either an LMOE shelter or Military Bunkers and Outposts.

You can’t craft recaliber kits, but there are gun store variants devoted to weapon mods.
