Where I have the highest chance of finding weapon mods? Or rather, can I craft anything other than the silencer and the bayonet? I’m mostly interested in rechambering for higher caliber…
No chance of crafting conversion kits as of yet, if you’re looking for weapon mods and you’re on the experimentals, try finding a gunsmiths, they’re marked as gun shops on the map, but they don’t have a shooting range, instead they’ve got a LOT of weapon mods and ammo around the back.

Other than that, your best bet is either an LMOE shelter or Military Bunkers and Outposts.
SWEET! When were gunsmiths added?
It was added in one of the experimental builds a couple weeks ago I think, I’m not sure if it’s actually a gunsmiths, but I call it that because there are a lot of tools and base components for ammo, along with a metric fuckton of mods and other bits and bobs.

Can hardly wait to find one! I’m always lacking for mods and reloading components.

My character also ran into this so called “tetanus” however I never got cut or ran across any sketchy metal, I did however haul an engine across town right before, My character has been constantly having spasms and falling on the floor stunned, its been 5 days now and cant hold out much longer, anyone have any ideas what this is??? this is my first guy in a long time to survive this long and id hate to see him go

You can also get tetanus from being cut by broken windows, which is what probably happened. Search for a medicine named Diazepam, as it has a one in 3 chance of curing it. Spawns in hospitals, pharmacies and doctor offices. I suggest packing some guns.

Also the disease cannot directly kill you, spasming mid combat can though.

Very strange how it does not list it in the effects or anything, anyway I guess this characters done for, I cant even walk down the hallway never mind go guns blazing in the middle of town for maybe finding a cure, can it be cured by time? and id hate to sound like a ungrateful unbelieving dick, but do you have proof? id hate to lose this guy and cannot find anything on the wiki or forum, although from whats happening to my character it does somewhat resemble lockjaw

Hehe no problem. Heres the proof

Which means: Every turn in 25 will be a spasm. The disease is given without a max turn number (so it will not go away on its own). And every environmental cut can transmit it with a one in 35 chance.

Also, from what I can tell disease immune (and resistant) plays no part preventing its transmission which is most likely a bug, and should probably be fixed.

In all honesty, this implementation of tetanus is ridiculous, I mean IRL almost everyone is vaccinated against it, and from a gameplay perspective there’s no reason as to why crossing windows should be potentially rewarded with death.

Anyways give the parkour trait to your next characters, that will prevent them from being hurt by crossing windows.

I have no idea who decided that Cataclysm should become DiseaseSim the Game, but it’s not in any way fun. Getting ganked by an undead grizzly? Fun. Scavenging half-rotten food under cover of darkness and trying to stay one step ahead of starvation? Fun. Screwing up a bionic installation and figuring out how to get through a town full of crazed zombies while that metal thing in your chest keeps going “PWEE!”? Fun. Getting chased across mile after mile of radioactive, post-apocalyptic wasteland by an inexplicably psychopathic moose? Um… well, not exactly fun, but tolerable. Spending five days holding down the “.” button waiting for the flu to go away so you can play the game again? Double-plus unfun, frustrating, and boring.

There are plenty of ways sickness can be implemented which don’t leave you crippled and helpless and/or a de facto nonstandard game-over if you don’t happen to have just the right combination of skills, shelter, and supplies. I ran a D&D campaign for eight years and at some point in the early years, I faced a rebellion by angry players if I didn’t get rid of the Random Wandering Disease table. Waking up once a week with assorted coughs, fungal infections, terrifying brain parasites, and/or assorted disfiguring skin afflictions may be realistic but it’s not enjoyable for the same reason I really don’t need to see Gandalf squatting over a log in Mirkwood while he vacates his wizardly bowels.

I think tetanus needs to be fixed ASAP. Blood whatever CBM, Disease Immune/Resistant and no max turn number seem like pretty big oversights.

dieases are not problem to me even with 1201 pain i managed to walk in town loot sciencist corpses an loot lab for royal jely (to cure fungal parasite) and without 2 handed tools or weapons (only trench knife and glock19 with 7 9mm bullets) just some luck armor and darkness and you can normaly scavenge for supplies (alslo computer hacker is usefull when looting pharmacy store

alslo gasmask or baseball cap with filter mask and protective goggles make you immune to flu and cold

only broken arms are problem to me because i cant use my pneumatic rifle (i do not have split and i am searching for book with reciepe with it)

I could use some help with vehicle construction. With my latest character I’ve survived for 26 days so far and Now I want to design a tryke for my nightly raids instead of carry around a shopping cart.

I believe I have everything I need: three light metal frames. 2 trunks, 1 shopping cart, 3 wheels, foot crank, seat, seatbelt, metal tank and faucet(for water storage), and stuff to create a roof and headlights.

My problem is when I build the thing it’s unusable. The only way to move it is to Grab it. Is there a certain order I’m supposed to add the parts in?

The Lone Survivor of the Apocalypse, Blake Hall, would be grateful for any help

The controls.

Seems like food isn’t well balanced.

Meat only:

Canned jar takes 1 meat, each gives 1 portion worth 50 nutrients. 50/chunk
Smoke takes 3 meat, each gives 3 portion worth 42 nutrients. 42/chunk
Meat jerky takes 1 meat, each gives 3 portion each worth 12 nutrients. 36/chunk
Dehydrated takes 2 meat, each gives 2 portion worth 20 nutrients. 20/chunk
Vaccum takes 2 meat, each gives 1 or 2 portion worth 25 nutrients. 12.5/chunk or 25/chunk

Some methods requires more resources but I’ll go with jars.

Maybe the devs might want to tweak this as well as other food.

Vacuuming requires salt as well making it the worst method.

I believe it is meant to come down to what you can find more than the final outputs.
Pemmican is the food of winners anyho.

Yup, you need some controls there son. But why not just upgrade to a real car? Easy space for 5 cargo trunks, no acid rain worries, plenty of the damn things laying about.

Just merged Rivet’s fix. Tetanus is a lot less common, less problematic, and responds to blood analysis/filters.

I think vacuuming produces 2 portions of food instead of 1.

I’m playing in Static Spawn mode. So, enemies are only spawned at world creation right?
What I don’t understand is, where are all those zombears and zolves raiding my shelter every other night coming from then :< ? Will it stop eventually?

Zombears, zolves, etc are all considered wildlife, which are still on a dynamic spawn.

Welp, time to learn trapping :stuck_out_tongue:

On the topic of trapping, can I set up spiked pits?

You can construct them, The path is * → a, , which will form a shallow pit, then repeat again to make it deep. And then * → b with 4 wood spears or pointy sticks in your inventory to put spikes in it.
