Where do you get the shopping carts? i havent really seen them

You’ll find them in some stores, especially hardware stores, and around parking lots/exteriors of stores. They shouldn’t be too rare in a town, although you won’t find them around every corner.

What is the to-hit stat that items have? Like, what does it do?

Shopping carts were nerfed D:

Recently, they could contain an entire region of city, now, they can’t. What volume and max. mass allowed for them now?
If you mean “recently” as in the last stable maybe, but I don’t know of anything that has changed them in the last month or so. Current shopping cart volume limit is 200 volume.
If you have a wrench, hacksaw, duct tape, and appropriate mechanics skill you can replace the shopping cart basket with a trunk to boost storage space. If your strength is up to it you can even use Cargo Space.

O-o there was this random roarrr! thing that happend… and i think ill quicksave XD

Its probably a running V8 somewhere nearby. At the last experimental id played, I dont think any enemy made a roaring noise.
Thanks. I’m using Raga’s, but my sidebar is unnecessarily big. Is why I tried to change the size. Sorry for all these stupid things I’m doing and asking, I’m still very new to things. Is there a way to make the sidebar small while in fullscreen?

Edit - If there is maybe a way to change the font size, it will be narrower?
right click on your desktop and select “screen resolution” to see the resolutin you should set it at. set the height a bit smaller than the actual screen size. its width x height btw. the actual option displays the size in tiles; look to the option description to see the actual resolution this translates to. if you set them both to the max, either edit it via notepad as previously mentioned in this thread, or just delete the folder (very simple uninstall) and extract the game again.

to change the font size, in the cata folder, go to the data folder, open the FONTDATA file in a program like Notepad++ or something and here you can edit the font size. this will skew your “console size” options however. use with caution, and ALWAYS increase the font size BEFORE you increase console size, or you may have the same problem.

that is; if the console is set too big, the window is so big that windows is not even displaying it. or it is just way off-screen. go to task manager (ctrl + shift + escape) and close out any persisting instances of cataclysm, as you may have racked up a few, which can eat up a bit of memory.

(edit - i see that you are actually just trying to make the sidebar smaller in fullscreen - i dont use tiles so i wouldnt know, sorry - this method is useful for a geometrically accurate view of the game, as by default, tiles are taller than they are wide. for example, the evacuation shelter is a square, not a rectangle. count it off if you want proof. your starting view of the map, barring forests or other obstacles, is also square, not rectangular, as it may seem. consequentially, monsters that are vertically displaced from your character are actually much closer than horizontally displaced monsters that look like they are at the same distance, and vice versa.)

the reason for this is that text is almost completely illegible in a square font. even if its not perfectly square, when you start reducing font size, it just truncates off the bottom. and then you are thrust into situations such as this.

i guess you cant really go wrong.

now i had a question of my own; is there any way at all to see land mines below 10 perception? it seems kind of cheap if theres no other way… although i have noticed a huge decrease in mine spawns for 0.A… i wish there was an option to spend a few turns “searching” for a one-turn PER boost to spot such hidden traps or something like that, like a throwback to DnD/d20. maybe items too, though i dont think that really fits into the gameplay; normally, the player is “prompted” to search at an interesting location, but for randomly placed minefields, at least you will be able to search for the rest in case one blows on a zombie/wildlife/your leg. sure you could just always roll with at least 10 PER, but i like to just Play Now since i grew tired of just “playing myself” or other ideal character builds for so long.

all hail the RNG

Is there a way to train computer skill without books?

NPC training. Also actually using it (by trying to operate control panels in doctor’s offices, police stations, labs, etc) will train it, but failure can be harmful.

Cigs and deugs boost perception. Also mutation and cbms. Also tupically mounds of dirt are usually land mine tidden.

yesa i thought i had read somewhere that they were completely invisible below 10 PER but i have bee playinga 9 PER char and yes i see the mounds of dirt… never realized that, never really paid attentiuon to it i guess, always rolled with 10+ PER; the random start is really a fun twist to the game.

still though. lemme know if that search feature sounds at all interesting.

While exploring a lab I got frostbite and the pain reduced my strength making me over encumbered and causing even more pain. I was close to the exit and I tried to just get to my car and not dump my loot. When I reached my car I had 95 pain. I spent two days eating aspirins and sleeping/waiting. I don’t have any pain or effects but I still have strength 11 (12).

Has something like this happened to anyone else and will my strength eventually return.

EDIT:
Problem solved just needed more time.

Do the cbm superalloy body playes provide any negative stat effects anymore? They used to give encumberene.

No they don’t give you encumbrance, now.

So.

I just spawned a wilderness start, no city in view, as a shower victim with no skills…

On the left side of me? A slime pit.

To my right?

Fungal bloom.

Suggestions? Aside from ‘run like hell’?

Be a badass and take them all on with a pipe.

I am… making a knife right now? Does that count?

So, quick question… how do you pour one container into another? I know it’s possible, I’ve just forgotten how, and don’t want to risk accidentally drinking acid to find out. Also, is it possible to pour liquid from a container in your inventory into one at your feet? No way I can lift both of these drums at once :V

Edit: Okay, found the answer to the first question, actually. Apparently 'U’nloading a liquid from a container gives you the option to pour it elsewhere. Still, is there any way to get the liquid into a container that isn’t in your inventory? Say… I wanted to pour water from my funnel jerrycans into my 55 gallon water barrel, for example, without having to try to fit both into my inventory?

You "U"nload the first container and the game will then prompt you to select a new one.

So I found a couple MREs.

Both of them had matchbooks in them.

Both matchbooks were empty.

Normal?
