I asked about this in another thread. You can’t create items through a recipe that have charges (or are in a container), so all matchbooks made by deconstructing a MRE will have 0 charges.
just to clarify i believe that funnels work by not only being character on a different tile, but i think also require the funnel to be placed first. and i would check the stack just to be sure…
So, quick question… how do you pour one container into another? I know it’s possible, I’ve just forgotten how, and don’t want to risk accidentally drinking acid to find out. Also, is it possible to pour liquid from a container in your inventory into one at your feet? No way I can lift both of these drums at once :V
Edit: Okay, found the answer to the first question, actually. Apparently 'U’nloading a liquid from a container gives you the option to pour it elsewhere. Still, is there any way to get the liquid into a container that isn’t in your inventory? Say… I wanted to pour water from my funnel jerrycans into my 55 gallon water barrel, for example, without having to try to fit both into my inventory?
Unequip your current weapon then pick up the 55g barrel, you’ll automatically wield it. Then you can pour stuff into it.
Coming back after a long hiatus, and it seems now that reading books takes a lot longer. Especially when you want to learn all the recipes from it.
My question is: Does learning recipes depend on my focus? Since reading a book lowers focus pretty darn quickly to begin with, sounds like learning all recipes will take one hell of a time…
I think some books lower focus faster than others, based on their morale bonus/penalty. If a book has a morale bonus it’ll actually raise your focus, whereas books with morale penalties decrease focus, and the higher the penalty the faster focus tanks.
A few questions about breaching mutation threshold.
If a mutation is in multiple categories (such as Slimy and Poisonous) which one does it count towards for the breaking threshold test?
I can’t seem to breach the troglobyte threshold. I have heaps of troglobyte mutations (solar vulnerable, troglobyte, slit nostrils, Full night vision) but using the trog serum just says everything goes white, then nothing else ever happens. I injected six trog serums into myself to no effect. Maybe it’s because so many trog mutations share category with slime, but I don’t know. It’s frustrating.
Do starting chosen traits count for the categories? I have Jittery as a starting trait, and I’m wondering if that is holding me back.
What is the third tier dream for trogolobyte? Currently my dreams are “your dream of living for years in the dark is almost real”.

1)Your strongest one most likely whichever one gives your the tier 3 dreams for that category(will be pretty frequent when you sleep)
2)If your playing stable trog is bugged and can’ t go past the threshold, get one of the experimentals I believe it got fixed.
3)starting traits don’t count I think.
4)That is tier 3 trog alright.

At least, I’m pretty sure that’s how it works.
I agree, and theres always raising your intelligence to help i supose. Fast reader helps too and MP3s are awesome for this. Just plug in and listen but beware, they GOBBLE batteries.
yea batteries die pretty quick… an MP3 player probably would only last the better part of a day, so thats about accurate, but these days (and especially 20+ years from now) i think flashlights would probably last at least a day of constant use… maybe not
i guess in this particular future, we forget about battery technology research and focus more on nuclear or something lol… hence plutonium cells i suppose
i think it actually mentions something about that in the design doc IIRC

You get points in each and every category the mutation has. This can lead to surprising results if you have a few commonplace mutations and one or two unique ones. Your strongest category is the one that you dream about. If you’re heavily mutated and aren’t getting dreams, that means you’ve a tie for strongest category.
Fixed earlier this week, yeah. My apologies.
No, they don’t. That’s the only downside to taking Robust Genetics.
Edit: Also, items made from wool doesn't work as fuel in a fire. Where wool is extremely flammable in the real world.
That is the opposite of what wool is in the real world. Wool is one of the most fire resistant fabrics you will find about a normal home.
Will my save from my current game be transferable to the experimental? And if so, which experimental is it?
If you could provide a link it would be nice. I’m a terrible computer noob.
Probably not, but its possible. Experimentals are constantly updated (multiple times a day) with new stuff/fixes. If you are playing 0.A there might be a chance (not a great one tbh), if not, id say zero chance. You can pick which experimental you want on the cataclysm homepage. There are 4 links there for experimental releases.
The wool we get from sheep is quite flammable, I don’t know what you might have experienced, but it was not wool.
Edit: Much more than a piece of wood would be, for example.
Different Topic: Canned meat, from crafting, seems to perish faster than cooked meat?
It really isnt. Wool is slightly flame retardant, it will burn, but not very well at all compared to cotton or other household fabrics. Nowhere near as flammable as wood.
Question: Is there a way to get back some kevlar from helmets and other army gear? I usually use the scissors on my leather and cloth stuff but obviously this doesnt seem to work on helmets…
