Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

The fishing hook recipe is a bit broken at the moment since it takes 1 nail and 5 minutes and gives Fabrication XP.

Many of the arrow recipes are a pretty easy fabrication grind anyway.

There’s the occasional interesting screwup (like when all the bushes in my world turned into stained glass windows) but they’re pretty rare. normally you can just keep updating the version while running the same world.

On mutation, I like to make up a jerry can of (flavoured) mutagen and a jug of purifier. Then I sip mutagen until I get something bad, sip purifier until that goes away, then go back to sipping mutagen…
It’s slow but sure. The key is to scrub out bad mutations as soon as they arise, because the later you leave it and the more positive mutations you have the harder it is to get rid of the bad ones. Plus a negative mutation that “doesn’t seem that bad” so you keep going can then chain into a much worse version leaving you to do heavy purifying.
I don’t use serums much, because granting multiple mutations at once means you have less control. Plus the pain/hunger effects.
OK, so I need to add those mutation-effects to orals too. makes note FWIW the conduct you describe is pretty much the intended conduct for addiction: lotsa doses at one go. Serum is stronger, true, but you aren’t rolling as often.

I found a bionics called “Leukocyte Breeder System”.

It’s description doesn’t outright say what it does, and there’s no wiki on it. Anyone know for sure?

I imagine it’s a way to cure sicknesses, since it mentions white blood cells…

You got it. Spend bionic power to boost your immune system at will.

Wow. Helpful crowd.

Been doing that. Tho I’m liking my solar-powered-cart-with-large-motor better for pick-up-and-go.
I understand my trouble a bit better now - the game absolutely refuses to let me attach another frame onto the side of the cart.
Non-carts, or self-created, identical carts made with the pieces of a dismantled cart? Sure thing. Actual carts? not so much.

[EDIT] - new question: What the heck is “K Dynamics” I used the forum-search, got one hit, and the question was not answered as far as I could tell. Answers didn’t really show up on a wiki-search, either.

Re: the wiki.

Nobody really updates it that much. I have done some work. But playing and coding is more fun. So we are always looking for more wiki people.
I thought saying “hostile” would be enough to specify that I’m talking about the enemy turret.
well i’m pretty sure the enemy turrets are the same as your own friendly targets, just hostile to you, so they probably don’t run out either. you could experiment by wearing Power Armo MKII and standing just within their maximum range and hold down the “5” key to wait.

Today I decided to test Rivet’s talk about how good Krav Maga was, I never bothered with styles. I can say without a doubt I was not disappointed.

I through myself into the fray without care and came out mostly unscathed, even when I allowed myself to be surrounded. Luckily, I happened upon a Hospital of which I single-handedly punched, disarmed, and obliterated all zombies around for supplies to patch myself up. After like 30 minutes I got bored, commited suicide. I think this may be the perfect newbie build. That is, go for a Melee point or two, Krav Maga, and as much strength as you can get.

I did some testing and all hostile turrets have exactly 100 bullets. This is about enough to destroy ~3 quarterpanels.

I was also doing some speed testing with V12s and managed to get to 2000 mph in a sports car with 4 V12s an 2 gas tanks. Then I hit a wolf, which reduced the health of every single frame in my car to 0. I did a 180 and rammed into a raccoon, which caused almost my entire car to dissolve. I was ejected, but escaped mostly unscathed due to my heavy power armor. The rest of my car skidded 4 map tiles. Holy shit.

Am I correct that Dojos will only spawn the ‘basic’ styles (karate, judo etc) and the only way to get the more exotic styles at the moment is to start with them?

Thats all ive found in maybe 15 dojos. Im not 100%, but it seems to be the case.

I have not found one dojo.

Also, do anyone of you know what the quick save button is? I need it.

The quicksave key isn’t bound to anything by default, last I remember.
MUHAHAHAH… MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
Hurry, save the hostages bind the key now!

Dag nabit.

On that experimental character I simply started with Krav Maga. Luckily, for knowledge purposes, I came across 3 Dojos in the same city (this city/town had 3 houses, 2 doctor’s offices, and 3 Dojos who knows what was going on there). I didn’t make exact notes of what I saw but in this instance I don’t remember a Krav Maga book dealio.

That seems fairly obvious. Three rival martial arts families, each with their own dojo. The doctors are there to patch them up after the street battles.
Everyone else has moved away because of all the street battles.

3 families that each used a different martial art style would just have massive street fights and beat the lving sit out of each other as soon as they saw someone from another family. The doctors there are their work cut out for them.

Though I bet the guys who used taekwondo taekwondwon lolololol omg I’m so funny don’t even lie.

Edit: I think I’m going to sig myself that was so damn funny I can’t even handle this omg

I dunno man, I’d like to think my foreign dude from far-far away with his odd style showed them all up. Everyone was dead, yet this man 1 day into his life in the Zombie Apocalypse came into their town and killed every single Zombie pretty much. I went into their Dojo’s and geared up with a Gi and Black Belt too. Good times.

They’ll spawn manuals for judo, akido, and karate. Akido is a liability ATM (half damage for double Pain is Unhelpful, IME) and Judo is pretty underpowered. Karate isn’t bad. I’m thinking of adding Taekwondo and Tai Chi manuals (and probably cut down the total chance, too? You only need one of each manual) to round out the Martial Arts Training styles.
