Hi there, pretty new to this game. v0.9
So I found a lab, get one level down and found lots of CBM.
I heard that I shall found stairs in the light blue “L” place, but what I see is a broken console, radio towers, concrete walls in the middle of the room.

Did I missed anything? Thanks for any help.

That’s a Portal Finale. Looks like the caged critters escaped or there weren’t any to begin with. As lab finales go that’s the least profitable, sorry.

Dark blue L is Lab w/o stairs, lighter-blue has stairs, and cyan L is the Finale. Finale’s on the bottom floor, so no more stairs down in that lab.

A while ago I got Cataclysm DDA and got hooked on it. Then the computer I had got backed up and I lost it I recently found it again have been happily running around and hoping that I make it to nightfall. (I’ve never gotten past the first day).

Anyway, I found where I guess a firefight was because I got a lot of army stuff from dead soldiers. A little down the road there was an LMOE shelter, and I decided that is where my base will be. Midday, I go to one of the nearby science labs. I found an ID card, got in and went to the computer downstairs. I said to bypass security and then manhacks dropped down. I am currently running as fast as I can through a forest to my LMOE shelter, but I’m not sure I’ll make it.

So my question is, how do I kill the manhack? Weapons I have are Steel chain, and brass knuckles. R leg has three bars. (lowest health right now).

EMP 'nades best solution to any robotic enemy, otherwise a decent range weapon if you got reasonable skills. Don’t mêlée a manhack unless you have godly skills(They are rather hard to hit).

Best way in your situation is to throw items at it.

Yes there were a few weird creatures and a Minotaur, which supplied lots of fresh meat. Yummy!

Now I am working on mutation and would like ask a few questions.

[spoiler]I don’t wanna take risk and I’m not into the save-load thing, so I just wanna get some stat boost. =]

After taking a look at the Wikia,
I notice that there are 5 special categories : MEDICAL, ALPHA, ELF-A, CHIMERA, and RAPTOR.
I have already learnt how to make the CHIMERA mutagen from a note, yet it’s not appealing to me.

In order to made those special mutagens, I have to find other notes?
Any drawbacks from taking the ALPHA mutagen?

Very little sleep and tireless are actually terrible as much of the ingame healing is actually done while you sleep, not to mention that elfa also has higher tier degeneration so you’ll have to use bandages to heal reliably. Medical/Alpha combination is the best probably, but youll have to purifiy a few drawbacks, both have decent post tresholds, its kind of a though choice.

I dont often suggest going with mutations, most are relatively useless except for the attribute boosts and nightvision, better to bother only with CBMs.

Eh so I let loose a blob and now while there is now a never ending stream of chunks of meat. It also seems that there is at least 2 jumping or wolf spiders near my base at all times. I’m running on version 0.6.

I just noticed that despite my vehicle having a theoretical max speed near 400mph, it’s limited to 200.

So, is there a way to search in the basic inventory screen?
i know there is a filter method in the advanced inventory screen, but as far as i am aware, that does not avail you the options that normally selecting an item gives. (IE. Consume, Dissasemble, Unload etc)

And where does one get a high quality lens? (For crafting the finger-mounted laser CBM and a few others, the web crafting tool says it is uncraftable.)

Is there a way to toggle an engine without flat out removing it? i’d like to have something like a generator in my solar base, but not run it all the time.
And for the life of me, i cannot find a hand press and die set, and as far as i can tell, it’s recipe is not in any of the gun books. And since i didn’t enable dynamic npc’s, i have none in my world.

Nope. Oft-requested feature.
Zeds can drop 'em, and they can show up in hardware stores IIRC. “Building the tools” is out of scope for most all the gun books; I suppose I could stick it in the Handloader’s Helper, though it’d be a fairly high difficulty.

No, you’re correct iirc. By the way, safe speed isn’t safe driving speed, it’s the speed at which you can be reasonably safe in thinking your engines won’t simultaneously explode from the stress of pulling your doomwagon past the speed of sound.
