Okay, so every time I take a trip in my RV, numerous parts (mostly the kitchen unit/buddy/welder et cetera, but a few doors too) end up damaged in the red for no apparent reason. Is this a bug, or is it because I’ve been running over shrubs? And is there a way around it? If I install plating, will that absorb some damage? It wasn’t happening in 0.9, I think.

Are you in the experimental? IIRC there’s been a fair bit of vehicle damage realistic-ifying since the stable, which has reduced a lot of this.

I am in the very latest experimental, yes. The new dynamic saving is great.

You will be able to make them into lamp oil. You can already do so in the experimental builds.

Thanks to a very recent PR by Kevin, we now have solar panels at 10% of the efficiency of before.

1: Do they have drawbacks?
2: Is it possible to make my own fungal spire and if so how?
3: Are my arms going to explode?

Aside from the fungus and possibility of getting Infected by all the spores that’ll be about, not yet.
Not for a while. That’s stage three Mycus mutation at least.
Not from Marloss Carrier.
Probably curious. It’s a Nifty sort of thing!

Nah, you pretty much hit the lottery. If things weren’t changed you have now an unlimited supply of food and happiness. I would recommend wearing a gas mask though.

How do I make use of martial arts books? Picked up some, no option to 'R’ead them. Game started in January with experimental, so it’s unlikely some updates screwed me up. Help?

Martial arts books have to be activated to use.

They’re not quite a book, more like a book-shaped object that mystically imparts kung fu powers to you in the blink of an eye and then vanishes.

How do I change a tileset? Maybe it’s obvious for someone, but not for me. Spent a whole hour trying to figure it out, didn’t find an answer neither here, not in the wiki or the official site.
There’s no gfx.txt in data folder. Changing the tilesets in the game options doesn’t seem to do anything.
I’m using the 0.9 official mac version.

Mac versions tend to be a little bit …iffy. AFAIK

Its completely plausible that tilesets cannot be toggled on it, just to be sure, You have already tried with the settings under the graphics tab of the option screen (would be the penultimate option), right?
