Need inventory space? You can take solids out of boxes, bags, and cans. Then drop the containers to save space.
I seem to recall randomly finding one of those on a zombie.
What I can’t find anywhere is the die set for making bullets.
IT a particularly large town? It may be that its actually two small towns.
And whats your base?
Last time I did it it was with town size 5, so its 99% not 2 small towns. Ive done the same thing a few times and had similar results. My base is usually a house on the edge of town in the suburbs somewhere. I look for something with a 1 tile wide window for an entrance, room for pits/spikes all around, set up a few nearby houses as fighting zones by clearing windows and setting up a few well placed pits, etc. Usually by about day 4/5 things are fairly quiet around the base apart from Z bears and the like. Probably a few 100 kills? Nothing like the 1000s people talk about to clear a town, thats for sure.
For bullet making gear drops from Zs is usually the best bet, though you can also get them from some basements, hardware stores and I believe pawn shops as well.
I’m on Dynamic spawn this time so no zombies hordes for me.
I just downloaded 0.9 after not keeping up to date on 0.6 and I’m stuck in the world generator menu. What button do I press to get to the confirmation and start playing?
You use < and > to move across menu tabs. Press > once again to move beyond a world creation / character creation menu entirely.
I haven’t really played Cata (much less DDA) since the construction update on the original Cata, so I have this stupid question: Is it possible to move items between different containers/vehicles, say between two shopping cards? And if yes, how?
Stand between the two containers so you are adjacent to both of them. Press / to enter the advanced inventory manager. Set one of the panes to one container and the other pane to the other container. Move the items.
Another newb question from me. Where are some good spots to find chain, or bicycles? I trying to make a quiet tricycle with some storage capacity for raiding further into the city, since I’ve cleared all the nearby areas. But before I can do that I need some pedals. Also, would it be worth just using an electric motor instead?
You should be able to get chain from scrap heaps. The large helicopter/tank wrecks you find sometimes. Hardware stores are a good place to look. Also can a Mod pin this?
Does anyone know how to get toxic waste tomb codes? (EDIT) Nevermind you get them from NPCs after doing certain quests (0.9)
Just HOW good are pneumatic bolt driver/rifle?

Hazmat sarcophagus was never finished: only source for the codes is the debug menu. ATM you’ll need another set to get back up, too. :-/
I understand the pnuematic guns are pretty good, but I’ve never used 'em.
i’ve replaced the broken windows in the house i made my base in with new ones. Now i can’t open them. (not to mention that building new windows requires carpentry skill, good luck finding it :P). Am i missing something, or is it a bug?
Probs technically a bug, you can get carpentry skill from clearing windows and building crap/digging holes.
Tank wrecks?
It’s a small bug. “carpentry” is the behind-the-scenes ID that is used for the construction skill (since that’s all it used to do) so the problem is simply that the construction menu is displaying the ID of the skill instead of it’s actual in-game name. For now just pretend that it says “Construction”.
the bug was not being able to open the windows
Well so was the carpentry skill.
That said for not being able to open them you probably just didn’t have all the resources required to get to the final stage of window making. Construction stage order currently goes empty window → unopenable (curtainless) window → Home window (opens/closes, curtains).
good to know. I’ll finally be able to exit the house through the windows, like normal people
AWESOME. I can take out zombie bears without any real trouble, it’s really very accurate, you can fire explosive bolts from it, and you can re-use normal bolts after picking them up.
And for some reason you can actually use gun mods on it.
