Wear noise cancelling headphones (Craftable through tailoring) or find ear plugs. Or take some Nyquil.

Nyquil do not help. Noice cancelling headgear- cant find it in crafting menu (tailoring 2, version 0.9)
No DEAF item seem to be craftable according to the wiki.
Tried Debug -> wish for an item: “ear plugs” or “noise cancelling headgear” with no luck. Cant find in list.
This is kind of buggy imo. I am stuck. In real life you would be able to just put some rags in your ear or something.

EDIT: Workaround: Cheat. Use Debug -> Mutate -> Poor Hearing

What are the new requirements for the Vehicle Welding Rig? I have Fabrication 7, Electronics 7 and Mechanics 6 but I don’t have the requirements to learn it from DIY Compendium (“Your skill won’t be improved”)

Edit: Ok that was odd. I was unable to learn it from DIY Compendium or Electronic Circuit Theory (both said “your fabrication/electronics skill won’t be improved”) but I successfully learned it from Mechanical Mastery.

Q1. If Ive done a crafting recepi. For example made clean water. Is there a shortcut to repeat the same crafting or do I need to go through the whole menu again?
Q2. is it possible to create a shortcut for crafting water?
Q3. do you have more keyboard tricks to make life easier (feel like the game is alot of keyboard smashing)

Hello people! It’s the first time I post in this forum (though I had some posts in the old one).
I got some newbie questions.

My left arm is infected, and it gives me a pain level of 20~. I used many bandages on it, without result but healing the limb (not the infection). I’m just getting high with heroin to make my character not feel pain, anything else I can do? (which is not royal jelly; I’m on day 4 with no good equipment at all
Where can I find a hacksaw? Do i need mechanic skill to remove and engine from a car and install it on another car? If so, what happens if I fail?
For now I’m living in an engine-less RV truck near a gas station in the middle of nowhere. I like it because it got a bed, seats (that work like bed), and a kitchen unit. How do I refill the kitchen unit water supply? How many times can I use the kitchen unit to heat\cook things before it goes out? (i suppose as long as the truck’s battery works, but who knows).
Can I board up cars’ broken windows\windshield? I got an hole in the truck that i want to cover.

Condescending noob post incoming…

You need antibiotics to cure infection, or as you said, royal jelly. You can find antibiotics in a pharmacy.
You can find hacksaws in hardware stores, garages, or public works. You cannot “fail” an engine install. You just need the correct gear and level. (Pro tip: you need welding goggles to install parts now).
You need clean water in a container. [E]xamine the RV and find all the water tanks, then press [f] on those tanks to fill them up. You need clean water to fill up water tanks. The kitchen unit will work until you run out of power.
You can’t “board” up car windows. Kinda impossible. You need a welder, a sheet of glass (You can rip those from another car), a wrench and the correct level to repair windows.

First aid kit or 'a’pplying a knife and lighter to the wound will also fix infection. Knife hurts but it is easiest, you will get a message ‘you clean the wound’ when its done.

Not in game.

But I suppose technically you could do it if you had something like my Logitech G510 keyboard.

It has macro keys so I suppose I could write a little program that moves through the menu really quickly and crafts water 10 times over.

I’ve never seen the point though. What I do is more convenient. I put jerrycans under funnels outside, catch rain in those. Build an (electronic) water purifier (or find one).

And then put a rechargeable battery on the water purifier. I charge it up in my vehicle. Then with each charge I can get a full jerrycan of clean water. Which I put into the water tank of a “vehicle” I built in my base. It has all the vehicle mounted crafting structures and kitchen mounted on it. It’s very convenient for drinking from it or dispensing water into containers.

Okay, so I was playing a character, and I realised that I’d screwed up the world gen, so I decided to go out in glory and then start a new guy. So I went into town with my gun and some molotovs, took all the stimulants I had and started shooting everything that moved. It actually went rather well, I could handle pretty much everything in town, including a brute. Then I ran out of ammo, and spotted a bar nearby. I ran in, got insanely pissed, and waited to die. But I ended up escaping, once outside I looked at my moral modifiers, and for some reason my char was extremely happy to be wet. Is that just because I was drunk out of my mind?
