- The light emitted by computers (by their monitors) is enough to be able to read a book. So if you want to keep reading a skill book at night just stay close to one, like the one in every starting shelter. This way you don’t waste batteries/candles/etc and can keep reading until your eyes bleed.
Why does a skill turn pink? I thought it was some kind of softcap, but I just had firearms turn pink at lvl 1. That makes no sense. I have 8 of my skills turn pink and only one of them is above 5. What can I do to fix these?
How can I fill up a vehicle with gas? I pumped gas into a water bottle, and a canteen but when I went to my motorcycle to reFill it it said it had no fuel can or something.
I had driven it around and the only reason I was filling it was because it was almost empty.
Skill decay is taking place on that skill. You can turn skill decay off if you want with ? + 2.

Get a wrench and loaded welder (or drop them nearby) and check the status of the gasoline tank of your vehicle. More than likely it will be displayed in grey, which means it’s broken. You can replace it with a bit of mechanical skill and a metal tank.

Thanks, too bad that character is dead, I was driving the motorcycle with what little fuel it had left, hit a spiked board, busted the wheel and flew into a tree.
You also need to choose the tile that has the gas tank to refill, you can’t do it from any tile.
Yeah, I just figured this out too when I examined a buggy and realized you can move the cursor over every square so I could find the controls.
I have a couple of questions if someone wouldn’t mind answering them.

What are pelts used for? I assume tailoring but what level of tailoring will be needed to put them to use and what can I make with them?

Is there any easy way to get salt or salt water? I have barely been able to find any yet.

More clearly, I’d guess creating a dry (=Rainproof) place in a 3x3 diggable spot? Since I’m not sure if it’s acidproofed, I’m not willing to bother with using them.
It’s acid and rain proof.
And can it be crafted? Maybe by disassembling some rain coats and adding some sticks?
fema camps are almost entirely made of tents. also, sporting goods/mil.supply store usually have one or seven. not that hard to find really.
Yes, I’m aware of that, but I still think being able to craft tents would come handy. It’s also something that shouldn’t be that hard to create yourself with the appropriate materials and survival knowledge.
I noticed this went unanswered, I too would like to know how to learn the other martial arts. Haven’t really dabbled with it until recently and have no idea. (Checked the wiki and there doesn’t seem to be any info about it, unless I’m blind)
NPCs teach them, we’ll be adding in books that can teach them at some point.
