What are the parts on the vehicle tile where your turret is installed? Except frame and turret mount, obviously. If there are no others, then it is WAD: bare frame can’t contain items so when the turret fires, casings and belt links drop down to the pavement. Install some vehicle part that work as a container on that tile, even regular seat will do.
I’m on latest experimental and there is new feature of “smart examine” - don’t know how else to call it. Now the game decides on it’s own if there are some interesting objects around or not and if it thinks that there is none or just one that it doesn’t ask you a direction of “where to examine”. So I’m standing next to a log and I just want to look at that log or pick it up, previous I would press e and then point at log, now I have an NPC next to me and the game just automatically opens NPC dialog. Does anyone know which setting can disable this?
Similar happened to open/close, I keep closing the door/window and immediately closing them…
And the other thing - sticky keys when driving a car. Very often repeated presses of skip turn are “accumulated” and then fired in a succession, instead of being captured only when you are given a turn. Just drove a vehicle into a river…
At some point one guy looked into it:
Basically, it’ seems to be a “feature” of the framework used for UI input, not of the game itself. So it’s really not that easy to disable it, afaik.
HOWEVER, if you press and HOLD the button, it does not “accumulate” anything.
It has always been a problem, try using less zoom, thats what it works for me, i always thought it was because of processing power but apparently it isnt
One of the changes for build #10294 was “Make autoselect a default true option”. This option basically confirms your examination of a nearby object if it is the only thing in reach that can be examined, rather than having to press a direction after examining.
You can turn the option back to False in Settings > Interface > Autoselect if exactly one valid target
Edit: Sorry, just saw your post explaining you found the answer after I posted this. I’ll leave it up so others can quickly see how to turn it off
It is. Looks like key presses are stored in a queue which is independent of main game cycle, and they are processed by main cycle which pulls them out of the queue one by one. If the cycle can process them faster that you can fill the queue, everything is fine. But if the queue fills up faster that the game can process it - which is exactly what happens if you zoom out too much while driving too fast (or in an area with many zeds/fire/anything else requiring processing and drawing) - then they are accumulated in the queue which is then processed while you are not pressing anything.
Ehmm… I have boom crane attached into my vehicle and i want to remove storage battery from fire truck,it say need tools of lifting. Well,i drive my vehicle close to fire truck and it still red did i miss something? Or i do somethinh wrong
Do you know if framework is part of the source base or only linked libraries? I just wonder if it’s easier to fix that in code or just drive very carefully.
What you describe is exactly what happened - I usually zoom out when driving + there was some tear gas propagation from a week old man hack, it did feel sluggish driving there.
Delts, when using a ‘lifting’ tool to remove a part from a vehicle, the tool (crane in this case), must have line-of-sight to the part being lifted. This means that on some occasions you may have to remove parts from the vehicle to get that line of sight. Things like quarterpanels and boards block line of sight (if you crouch and then cannot see the space with the part you want to work on from the cranes location you know something is blocking the view).
How do we collect clay now? I see a tile with a clay, shovel doesn’t have any specific options for this. If I just dig a pit then I don’t get any clay from it.
How does one catch chickens?..
There where like a dozen of them at the ranch that is now my new home but they hoped the fence and I can’t even run to them fast enough to feed them bird food. I could probably try a horse, but this would look kind of weird, not as weird as motorcycle or a bicycle chase but still.
