It’d be cool if at high enough perception it treated the sound source as if it was visible.
I think a lot of the concerns I see about perception, and dex as well, seem to boil down less to problems with it as a stat, and more that high skills erase those problems too completely. It should take good dex, good perc, and good skills to be a great shot. How to balance this with stats falling off due to pain penalties is anyone’s guess … Personally I think the stat penalty system is a little flawed for this reason, and having things create more specific debuffs than a blanket stat penalty might be the way to go.
