No need to dogpile, there was evidently some amount of miscommunication happening, once it was cleared up the steam page has been withdrawn.
Why is this game not available in Russia?
Unless the Russian regime has blocked CDDA’s home page it is available in Russia.
The Steam experiment has been cancelled, and so CDDA will not be available via Steam anywhere in the world: you have to go via CDDA’s home page.
Also it has a very prolific translation team and has a complete Russian translation.
Im a really big fan of CDDA would love to see it on steam for more recognition,
So i edit in my downtime ( ive done a few small payed jobs for twitch Years ago )
id be more then willing to do a trailer if im not swamped with projects, payed projects come first obviously lol.
if you do see this and want a fast and sure fire way to get in contact with me spam my discord ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
More people enjoying the game is nice but we have actually no reason to actively try to get more recognition, the game is free and we already have more contributors than we can easily manage, see the backlog of 137 Pull Request at the time of writing this.
When I look at the playtime of some games in my Steam Library, I think it is a tragedy that CDDA is not where it should be, at the top of the list, above Factorio, above Shadow Empire, above Kenshi, above Songs of Syx.
That is how great it is.
However - then I think about the zillions of hours I played games before Steam even existed and I think, now… where did I leave that metal tank(60L)…?
Can someone explain why there is a steam page anyway and why it charges £16.75 and why it’s published by some unknown
Because now it was done by someone that is endorsed by the Dev Team, Korgent is a Dev team Member themselves too. you find them in the ingame credits too if you scroll
Oh now they’re interested in charging for it
The license for C:DDA is extremely permissive, so it’s permitted to use the code for most everything, including putting it up for sale. That sale has nothing to do with this project, even if someone happens to have been part of the development team in the past.
