Shovel able to pulp corpses

Just a little suggestion / Idea, Am I the only one who thinks Shovels should be able to Shift+B pulp corpses?

No the Shift B one, To smash the bodies up so they don’t rise again. It just says “You need an edged weapon” Pretty sure a shovel is edged and would be good at hacking up a rotting corpse.

…Not that I would personally know.

I know it’s not that big of a deal but the game strives for realism, I just assumed a Shovel would work.

shift+ b means butchering. shovel isnt exactly good at this.

You can smash a corpse with nothing equiped at all. Just using your hands. A shovel not working ? I do not believe you.

Have you tried it?

The shovel in my shed will barely go through fresh roots never mind bone and gristle, and despite the edge its got, its not razor sharp. Try slicing your fresh meat with a dull butter knife and see how finicky it is.

Could you Butcher with a shovel? Yes you could.

But you’d be at it for a while… And probably half-ass it along the way.

At that point, I’d rather just take a rock and shatter the skull, limbs and chest until the bugger couldn’t prop itself up under its own weight.

Keep in mind, My asking is only due to the message you receive when using B to butcher while holding the Shovel. “You need an Edged weapon” Shovel is an edged weapon.

When you “Shift+B” to butcher you’re working to render usable meat, bones, and fat from a corspe. You can’t do that with a shovel, it might be sharp enough but it’s far to large and unwieldy for that kind of work. You use “s” to smash and pulp a corpse, which the shovel can do.

Oh, that’s why! Well shovels i guess aren’t considered because butchering has to be a really precise thing, as how it works in real life.

Ok, I will completely own up to my misunderstanding. I was not aware Butcher meant to actually get meat and things back I thought it was just butcher up the corpse. Now I know. Thank you.

Well, as you got confused by it, we might want to change the “You don’t have a sharp item to butcher with.” into “You don’t have a butchering tool to butcher with.” Or even “You don’t have a butchering tool.”
