I’d like to be able to be notified by the game when my character notices stuff on the ground that I’m looking for. For example, I want to fix my car and need a particular wheel, so I’m pressing V every few screens and checking if theres a wheel in there, and when I see a wreck I come up to check its tire size.
I like to be able to spot corpses that are randomly scattered with wallets and other useful stuff, pressing V again every few steps.
I’d like to be able to spot closed crates that sometimes spawn, I remember almost ripping my hair out when I noticed crates in a spot near my cabin that I walked past a lot of times but didnt check it cause it was character-visible but not fitting on the screen, only accidentally discovered them when a zombie was spotted outside window while reading and I enabled Look around and then saw crates like 20 steps away from my window. Upon opening them there was a bunch of guns, MREs and ammo in there.
I usually play 0.H stable but I downloaded and checked Cataclysm-DDA 0.I release candidate 2026-01-20-1811 and didnt find any such feature in there.
