Zed generates heat >= a tile of lava. Already causes blistering and heat damage at close range. Evolved form vomits a shorer-range-than-acid-spitter, single-tile glob of melting slag. All tiles with organic materials become dirt and their contents ash, regenerating zed’s health or stopping loss of its health. ?Can slowly turn organic walls into ash?
Butchering gives coal/charcoal
Current state:
Okay so, too hot to handle. Also some lore issues. Blob dies in heat. How does the zombie not burn up?
Zed generates heat <= a tile of moderate fire. Not sure if that can set things on fire. Definitely don’t want it that hot without an INSANELY low spawn rate. FPS issues would ensue.

Z slowly looses health. Walking over non-flamable liquids regenerates health effectively delaying death.

Lava Zombie sounds awful to deal with. Even Fire Vent Zombie would be terribly painful. Fire is too strong on its lowest intensities to begin with, and lava is, well, lava.
Since Noble Culver isn’t a Mycus powered abomination in power armor with amphibole fibers weaved into his skin, he fears fire as much as any puny human.
Fire damaging clothing is seriously annoying to deal with. It makes dealing with ants even more of a problem than it is already (which is saying something).
Yeah, can’t say I’m a fan of this idea. For a mod, sure, why the hell not, but definitely not my idea of fun for the main game.
A tile of lava will burn you in basic gear at what, two squares away? Does that heat only affect characters or is he right that it would set fire to buildings and such?
Well implimentation is definitely everything. I also remembered that blob is boiled out of water so obviously a Z generating that much heat would need a really lore-correct description. Making some adjustments to original post.
